Lovely ending to a lovely story. So many ups and downs. So many emotions! So many heroics from the biggest heroes to the tiniest. I loved every minute of it! It was well worth the wait.

So just when I was becoming disenchanted with NCIS fanfiction, I suddenly stumbled across this little (or perhaps 'big' would be a better word) piece. This was actually incredible. It was challenging in a way that a lot of great literature is, dealing with a topic that's obviously very close to the bone for a lot of people, and the way you depicted Tony's reactions to everything, and how it was tearing him apart was so in character. At the part where you said that Tony would never make jokes about Catholic school uniforms, that was the point where I think I decided that this is the best NCIS fanfic I've ever read. I'm yet to find anything in the same league as this in the NCIS archive, and very few that I've found elsewhere. And that ending... I couldn't have imagined a better way to finish this story. It was beautifully bittersweet, and it left me with tears in my eyes. I don't cry at films and stories often. (Many people call me heartless because I didn't cry in 'Bambi', and I didn't cry at 'Titanic', which may put the comment about having tears in my eyes into context.) I can't find anything to say with regard to your writing - your characterization was as close to perfect as I think I've ever seen, your style is intelligent yet engaging (feel free to substitute a better word for 'intelligent' there,) and the plot was interesting and thought-provoking. I really can't fault this story. Well done :)
