You are really good at capturing the characters - Snape sounds perfectly Snape-ish, and I love the way Filch relates his glares, etc., to cleaning - it's the perfectly fitting thing for him to do.

I am glad, I explored duj's Favourites List and found out about this fic. It's great, I have never read about this incident before (or at least, not in this way). Both characters are deep, and nicely in character. Your portrayal of Filch is very interesting and crebible - and Snape is at his best, yes! hehe... I like the idea that Snape was one of the students who was decent to Filch at school.

And I loved the line about the plan -

This is absolutely authentic Snape and Filch and I love the ditinctive voice. I wish you'd get active again. Your stories are great.

You have such a marvelous way with Filch. I could completely feel him throughout the narrative. My favorite line was when Filch admits to not hating all students, just most of them. That was perfect. I also very much enjoyed the interaction with Snape, from Filch's grumblings as he followed th trail of blood to his surprise at Snape's injury to his brilliant final line about reckless Gryffindor bravery. It was utterly brilliant!

Magnificent vignette - revealing so much about both Snape and Filch's characters in one subtle conversation. Believably a part of the "behind the scenes" canon, as well, in both characterization and action. It's fascinating to get a more kindly glimpse into Filch's mind and this is Severus at his most Snapeish. Favorite line: “You rushed in there and stuck your leg down one of Fluffy’s throats.
