Reviews for Broken People
shadowphantomnes chapter 7 . 9/18/2012
Oh no! Poor Tsu'tey! I suppose there are repercussions for Jake mating Neytiri, so the leadership challenge looms ahead. I can understand why Jake is leery about losing use of his arms. After all, he's already lost his legs and I'm pretty sure his wheelchair is manually powered. Let's see... I feel like Jake wouldn't be the type to challenge Tsu'tey though, unless he had to.

Ah, and poor Norm as well. I figured that he wouldn't be the type to fight in the first place unless he had to, since he had no military training or even really martial arts or hunting experience. And he died in his Dreamwalker body - that must be traumatic! I hope he gets better too.
shadowphantomnes chapter 6 . 9/17/2012
Oh, Jake... I admire your tactical thinking but I was fearing the 'uh-oh' moment that would come soon behind. And yes, they did scare off the viperwolves, but it sure wasn't good because it reopened their injuries. Furious healers again! Poor Tsu'tey, not knowing military terminology, and being clueless when he heard 'six'!

I really liked the information and background you gave about Tom too. Cheers!

shadowphantomnes chapter 5 . 9/16/2012
Great insight into Tsu'tey's character! I like how he went outside to breathe 'real air', saw Jake in the AMP, and panicked, although the fact that there was no shield might have been a clue. Of course, Jake is a Marine, so he went for the eyes. Good going!

Tsu'tey is quick to anger but he was able to apologize. The part where he wanted to smack Jake was very in-character. I'm sorry that Tommy got shot, of course, and really, the Omaticaya wouldn't have abandoned Hometree without a fight. That is very true. I also forgot to mention that I liked how Tsu'tey wasn't exactly sure what a mine was in the previous chapter, or at least, not the bomb-mine. Grace wouldn't talk about that, sure.

It is true that scientists might not be the brightest people to the Na'vi, but they learn a lot - it just isn't always what the Na'vi want them to learn. And since Jake and Tommy were twins, their souls must be similar...

Ooh, action and a cliffhanger. Nice!
shadowphantomnes chapter 4 . 9/16/2012
This was a sad chapter, and I cried when I heard that Arden was being returned to Ewya. I am well aware that there was a lot of death and injury, but this is a much more personal interpretation of it. And the fact that there were still children caught in Hometree when it burned to the ground, well, definitely, Quaritch would consider it a casualty of war. After all, he only thought of them as blue monkeys, and Jake did so at first.

Tsu'tey is still Ole'eyktan, but I can't blame him for feeling left out of the loop and rightfully angry. Nonetheless, he himself is still injured, and even scientists and doctors can only do so much.

Jake is a convenient target. And I'm sure he has a lot of self-loathing about what happened to the Na'vi. He just hasn't introspected about it yet.
shadowphantomnes chapter 3 . 9/16/2012
The way you portray the two of them is wonderful. It figures that Jake might go out wandering in an AMP just to disable the mines (and Quaritch's kill zone disgusts me too). And then, he would not pay attention and totally get run over by a Titanothere... again.

I like how Tsu'tey wonders how dumb Norm is, since his most tolerable Sky-person associate was injured and the guy brings him food! But I was also glad how Jake was able to stand up straight to Tsu'tey and tell him he was not broken, damn it.

"Jeez, I'm glad I didn't get paralyzed here, then." He shrugged slightly. "I guess I can't say the idea never crossed my mind, especially during those first couple weeks. I mean, this isn't exactly how I planned to live my life. But if the bad guys didn't manage to get rid of me, I'm sure as hell not going to just give up and do the job for them. Sure, there are things I'd like to be able to do that I can't, but..."

And yes, Tsu'tey probably does not want to talk to Neyteri yet. There's still so much unresolved between those two...
Shadowphantomnes chapter 2 . 9/16/2012
Brilliant! I can totally identify with tsu'tey and jakes personality does not change much. He is still very prickly but tsu'tey is exceedingly rude as well. There is a lot of testosterone induced posturing that I find very in-character. And the ikrans... Sniff
Tamuril2 chapter 34 . 9/13/2012
Yes *jumps in air and does a twirl* an update! *lands perfectly (cause this is virtual and I can!)* I've been wondering about this story recently. Funny how I keep donig that and you update right at that moment. Ahh, gotta love it. :D *Jake comes out* You going to review anytime soon? *Tam blinks* I'm reviewing right now! *Jake smirks and folds his arms* No, you're not, you're ranting. *Tam glares* Fine, maybe I am, but I wasn't going to make it long. *Jake scoffs* Like that would ever happen. *Tam smirks* Well, you're just making it even longer! *Jake takes a step forward* You reveiwing or do I have to come over there? *Tam gulps and backs up a step* Okay, okay, I'm reviewing...meany...

1)The part about the tags was a good humour addition. I agree they are a bit plain, but Tsu'tey and Neytiri don't understand their purpose like I do. I thought Jake was going to say something like "They help remind me of my mistakes and to not make them again.", but they lines you put in where much more like him. I also liked how Jake explained the videos to Tsu'tey. Great job!

2)The part about the palulukan's den and the ideas of getting it to go away. I agree with Tsu'tey and Jake, the bolder idea is much more appealing than the smoke one. I can't wait to see what they actually do.

3)Yay, Tsu'tey and Neytiri made up (sort of) and Tsu'tey's going to help Jake train. Go all of them! *does her cheerleader pam-pams dance*

Keep up the great writing. I'll be waiting with eagerness for the next update.

Heh, I can see that pendant. Or that string of beads. And I think it would suit him just perfectly.
Harm Marie chapter 34 . 9/13/2012
Liked this.

Dark Inu Fan chapter 34 . 9/11/2012
A marine's dog tags are as much as a part of them as Denen or Seze were to Tsu'tey or Neytiri. Its possible to live without them, but it just feels wrong to do so. I'm glad to see that the boys made it out of that fiasco with nothing more than a tongue-lashing. Keep up the good work, dark
Isis36 chapter 34 . 9/11/2012
Wow! An update! Great chapter :)
avatarTingal chapter 34 . 9/11/2012
Hip hip hurrah! A new chapter. I already thought you'd have abandoned this great story! And I love the new chapter!

Hmmm, about the Palulukan...Jake was formerly a Jarhead - or not? I'm sure he knows everything about smoke-bombs (I know by own experience how effective smoke-bombs can be) and small, controllable magnesia flashes. That would be surely enough to relocate a Palulukan without endangering the new hometree.
I had to smile about the problem with the chain of Jake's dog tags. But the Na'vi are right. Glittering metal shouldn't be wore in the djungle.
And finally T'su tey and Neytiri had their talk. I hope hey can become brother and sister again. They're perfect that way.
Xahraxs chapter 34 . 9/11/2012
I think this match might be tied given both Tsu'tey and Jake are warriors and the top of their class.
Chades chapter 34 . 9/11/2012
An update, wohoo! It's a bit funny actually because I just thought about this the other day and wondered whether or not I had reviewed the last chapter or if I was merely going to and then forgot. I still love this story and I liked the chapter. ;)
