Reviews for Tomorrow's Dawn
Gurdit chapter 10 . 9/28/2018
I really, really enjoyed this. I read it while in office!

I think your portrayal of the characters completely matches their game personas, and my headcanon of paragon male Shepard.

You portrayal of Legion is especially bang-on. His speech, his logic, the description of his plates. All of it is perfect.

Tali strikes me as someone who's high-energy, constantly buzzing, and highly passionate. You've captured all of these qualities perfectly. You've also almost nailed the speech, though in the latter chapters, I feel like there's a little inconsistency. She asks more questions, though in the game, I remember her being more of a "statement" person. Even when she wants to ask a question, it usually sounds like a statement that the other party must either confirm or confront.

Full marks for the others, though. All very consistent, and extremely well portrayed.

As a nit-pick, I found some missing words here and there, possibly resulting from having edited this a number of times, perhaps. But there are minor. The mechanics of your writing are great, and your storytelling skills are very good too. You kept the pace consistent, and kept the reader hooked.
Simply Christian chapter 10 . 3/11/2017
I admit, I usually avoid tragedies, so I was hesitant to read this. However, since you recommended it for "For Tomorrow We Die," I decided to give it a try. Now, I'm glad to have done so, as I liked it almost as much as "Second."

I liked how you pointed out Legion's, and by extension, the geth's, lack of comprehension of social interaction. While they are artificial intelligence, the face remains they are computers. And computers tend not to do anything until they're told to. While the geth had gained sentience, it never occurred to them to seek out organics.

It was interesting to read your interpretation of Tali's prejudice towards Legion and the geth. While her enmity for the geth is well-established, I personally didn't think it extended so far as her thinking Legion wasn't even alive; after all, the whole point of geth's uprising was that they developed sentience.

I was impressed by the way you showed Tali's development in exploring Legion's memories of the mission. From her initial dismissal of Legion's claims towards peace with the quarians to her gradual realization of the full extent of his actions and intentions, it was heartwarming to read how she sees a day through Legion's eyes.

The only thing I'm not too sure about is how quickly Tali went from hating Legion to joking and teasing with him. I had thought there would have been a period of more awkwardness as Tali came to terms with the fact that Legion was a genuine crewmate and a potential friend, and had their relationship develop more gradually from there.

This was a well-done story, and I'm glad that the second ending was the one chosen to be "canon" in "For Tomorrow We Die." I'll be sure to leave a review on that one too after I'm finished.
Anastasia chapter 10 . 9/2/2016
Damn, this is strong! And awesome! I was crying like a baby while reading it.
pianoman5000 chapter 10 . 7/14/2016
Thank you for sharing this story. You hit the nail right on the head in capturing the struggle between quarian and geth. The background of their history was one of the most emotionally moving aspects of the game for me, and finally seeing the resolution of conflict was extremely gratifying. Your interpretation of the beginnings of this peace are fantastic.
yungjeezy chapter 10 . 7/6/2016
Bruh, Tali and Shepard better go all the way in For Tomorrow We Die hahah pls
yungjeezy chapter 9 . 7/6/2016
Bruuuuuuuuh this should've been your real ending hahahah :'( Also would've been awesome to see why Kasumi likes legion alot, interesting friendship there, pretty cute too hahah looks like Kasumi missed her favourite toy
yungjeezy chapter 5 . 7/6/2016
Hahaha legion you tricky bastard
Mitsuki Shigamatsu chapter 5 . 6/14/2016
Sneaky Legion! He played dead so the Collectors would take him to where Shepard and the others were being held.
SarcasticallySatyrical chapter 10 . 5/12/2016
Really, really like this fic. Does an excellent job of showing Tali's thoughts without making her completely unlikable and still have her confront and rise above the prejudice. And I really like the multiple ending idea. That was clever.
Mike chapter 2 . 1/14/2016
Okay, barely won me over by this point. I don't say this to be harsh, more the scenes moved quickly and although it was satisfying it was hard to grab by this point.

Tali should have had more monologue at the start, more exploration of her thoughts. Actually with the conversation with Garrus you have a Tali that quickly makes sense, without the thought process going on behind it she just sounded emo before this point.

I like where this is starting and where it could go, I accept I'm writing a late review as there is already a sequel, but that's my thoughts so far.

Another redeeming factor was Garrus, I could mostly imagine him stood there speaking the words and they fit. Not bad, I want to see more )
Alpenwolf chapter 10 . 4/30/2015
A very interesting read which may change the world we know in ways I can't see yet. Tali and Legions communicated only when they had to, otherwise Tali went out of her way to avoid the geth. Here, you practically forced her to work at him and later with him. It's a nice 'prologue' of sorts I'm guessing.
DeathmatchDrunkard chapter 10 . 2/20/2015
A great job you did here. I especially like the inclusion of an alternate ending, though I fully expected it to be one where Tali doesn't come around. Intentionally or unintentionally, you got me good.
thepkrmgc chapter 10 . 7/4/2014
