i forgot how good this story is.

I know its 2024 but I've just finished this and I am SOBBING. So good, thank you ️

I have no idea why Finn joining the Army stories have become a fave but this, Into the Blue Wild Yonder and Guarding the Heart have been my faves for years now. They absolutely screwed up Finn’s character arc and development on Glee. Honestly, shot himself in the leg? I’m still irritated because in the process, they ruined Cory for the worse too, that had to be annoying, having a character almost grow up and be better only to be dumbed down to not being smart enough to know how to handle his own weapon. I’ve taken to fanfiction even more these days as missing Cory/Finn and dare I say, Monchele has become too great a burden to bear, so I release it all through reading these stories. My heart will forever ache for the man who didn’t get to grow old, the love that was forced to die and the woman who was forever changed because of it (Lea for any new gleeks out there) and the gleeks who survived it all when it happened. I love you so much Cory, you’re gone from this side but I pray I get to (finally) meet you someday in Heaven

I still read this story, no lie, once a week. It makes me cry EVERY time and I cannot tell you how much I adore everything about this story. 3

Thank you for this. After all these years it's a lovely thing to know I can still fall in love over again with Finn and Finchel's powerful love through these stories. Please don't EVER remove them. They help me through my dark days

Rachel will never get finn the way he was before he joined the army, because what he went through no one can be the way they were before something like that happen to them. I do think however, that she will get Finn back, at least as far as his being able to remember his old life.

Hudson is really Finn underneath, but he's gotta get his memories back before that can happen. Finn is still in there, you can see little bits of him coming out a bit at a time.

Certainly and after all this years this fanfic keeps being one of my favorites. It still brings tears to my eyes to read such a beautiful story. Thank you so much for writing it.
