Reviews for Sherlock Holmes and the Great Clock of Westminster
LADYMALLARD chapter 18 . 6/5/2010
Well I Should have guessed that a slippery character such as Professor Moriarity, would'nt be in custody long, bad pennys such as he, always have a way of escaping justice. But on the lighter side I was happy that Charlie was reinstated in the museum getting back his job and more, a well deserved reward for his effort in the face of great peril to prevent a horrible disaster. This story never failed to hold my interest right from the start. As another reader said, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Holme's creator, would indeed, be proud.
LADYMALLARD chapter 17 . 6/5/2010
I will start this out with an all's well that end well. The clock, Charlie and Emily are safe, thanks to their efforts in stopping the clock in time, Moriarity is in custody and the diamond is being returned to the museum. Great excitment all centering around the clock's not striking as it was supposed to. This was a great wrapup chapter, well done...on to the final chapter in this exciting and well written story...
LADYMALLARD chapter 16 . 6/5/2010
I was CORRECT in my suspicions, the mysterious Vicar was indeed Holmes in disquise. How clever, even Moriarity wouldn't think that a Vicar would turnout to be his Arch enemy, not too bright, is he? Well Holmes has suceeded in catching the nafarious villian and recovered the Blue diamond, but now he must return to London. Finding the note has sent Dr. Watson to the Clock tower to find Charlie and Emily. This has been an exciting and cleverly written chapter to say the least...things are pulling together, great job, on to the next...
LADYMALLARD chapter 15 . 6/5/2010
Yeah, Charlie and his Emily have suceeded in stoping the clock works, saving themselves from being blown up along with the big clock itself. How clever to use a blockade of wood to stop the movement and prevent the bomb from completing it terrible misson. In the meantime I wonder, who is this mystery Vicar who has found his way to Professor Moriarity's new hidaway? He is quite a delightful character, I do have my suspicions, but will have to see if I am correct...a very interesting situation arising...onto the next chapter..
LADYMALLARD chapter 14 . 6/5/2010
Wow, Charlie has a knowlege of the clock workings that's the good news, but he's also been given a diabolical drug to slow and muddle up his thought processes, that's the bad news. Will he be able to work out a plan to deactivate the bomb in time? The suspence is terrible, again...QUICKLY...onto the next chapter...
LADYMALLARD chapter 13 . 6/5/2010
OMG! Moriarity You FIEND! It's shades of "The Perils of Pauline!" But instead of a sawmill and being tied to a log, Charlie and his lady are about to be blown to "SMITHERINES!" UNLESS, Holmes and Watson can find them in time, to save them and the London Landmark from distruction. Whew what a cliffhanger! Quickly no time to wast...on to the next chapter...
LADYMALLARD chapter 12 . 6/5/2010
No, Charlie is on his way to try to rescue his beloved, slipping out past a sleeping Dr. Watson. Trouble with a capital "T" for sure! what will Holmes and Watson do to save both he and Emily now? Suspence is building, ever building..great job, on to the next chapter.
LADYMALLARD chapter 11 . 6/5/2010
Oh Boy, Now there is even more trouble for Charlie, taken to Scotland Yard by Holmes, he confesses the whole sorddid tale and finds out that the money he was given by the Professor was counterfit. Now he is smuggled over to Holme's flat in Baker St. Meanwhile, Emily is tricked by Moriarity into traveling to the very same tower where Charlie had been held earlyer. What a delemma, what will happen when Charlie finds out? I'll wager he goes it alone to try a rescue. There is danger ahead for both of them for sure. What will happen next? On to the next chapter...
LADYMALLARD chapter 10 . 6/5/2010
How sad, the museum has let the little fella go, but he doesn't seem surprised. Charlie needs help for sure now, before they arrest him for something he was forced to do. I certainly hope Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson can help him, (if he'll let them ofcourse) But, what will happen now, if Moriarity has further plans for this poor chap, as if he isn't in enough trouble already. This is really getting exciting, on to the next chapter...
LADYMALLARD chapter 9 . 6/5/2010
The excitment and tension builds. Well, Charlie followed his instructions from Moriarity, but the curator of the museum wasn't fooled though, because he knows the night watchman's nature and so has discovered the diamond substution. Can Holmes get Charlie to tell him what he knows? OR, will the little fellow in trying to protect his lady, take all the blame himself. What will happen next? On to the next chapter...
LADYMALLARD chapter 8 . 6/5/2010
Well the dastardly deed is done and now Charlie must keep mum about it, or face the worst Moriarity and his goon squad can dish out. How will he face himself and those he's protected by doing what the Professor forced him to do. Poor fellow, can Holmes or anyone help him clear his conscience and his good name and catch the Professor, getting back the Diamond? Only time and the next chapters will tell, jreat job, on tot the next chapter...
LADYMALLARD chapter 7 . 6/5/2010
Moriarity has certainly pushed the right button in order to force his captive to cooperate. When money and personal peril to Charlie failed, he threatened the one person nearest and dearest to Charlie's heart. What will Charlie decide? I suspect even though this is against his nature, our poor little friend will agree to do the professor's bidding to protect Emily. Moriarity is using the lowest intimidation, which is exactly as I would expect from a villian as dispicable as he. More great tenson to add to an already extremely exciting story...great job, on to the next chapter.
LADYMALLARD chapter 6 . 6/4/2010
A mysterious message to Emily from Charlie. Holmes and Watson have had a discussion about all the clues he has gathered, just as the message from Emily arrives informing Holmes about Charlie, it is another clue confirming, what Holmes already knows, Moriarity has him. Now time is the enemy, Holmes and Watson are about to go on the hunt..excitment is building. Another well written chapter for this truely amazing story.
LADYMALLARD chapter 5 . 6/4/2010
Well Charlie was able to unbind himself and discover his whereabouts, but with the door locked he is still a prisoner. Locked in the great bell tower alone he is as helpless, as if he were still tied up. Holmes has cleverly learned from his wanderings in disquise, that his nemisis, arch fiend Moriarity, engineered Charlie's kidnapping, but not where the little fellow is now. That is still a mystery to the detective. Another well written chapter with the tension building, keeping me on the edge wanting more...on to the next chapter.
LADYMALLARD chapter 4 . 6/4/2010
Well at least Charlie wasn't too badly hurt, by that cowardly attack behind his back but he is still in a world of trouble for sure. Hidden away and unable to escape on his own. Holmes seems to have a clue, but what is it? Why has he rushed out that way? I don't know any more than Watson does it seems. On the other hand Professor Moriarity it seems, has figured everything out to his liking. Oh the tension rises, I'm on the edge of my seat in anticipation. On to the next chapter...
