Please excuse me while I read this over and over and over again.

I am of two minds about this story.

On one hand, there is a lot about it to like: you seem to have a very good handle on the military elements of the setting, and in fact your writing of those components has a lively vividness that I wish I could capture in my own work. Your description of turian *society* seems damn near spot-on, and while a lot of the tropes you use with respect to their physiology are used by other authors to make turians look more like wild animals than intelligent beings, I don't get a strong sense of that here.

On the other, all of that ultimately ends up being kind of an excuse plot that culminates in some rather generic sex. The characters are... well, I kind of like them, but they don't really seem like Garrus or Shepard so much as generic soldiers who do more to reflect the liveliness of the *setting* than they do to show off their own unique personalities. I think the best way to describe them would be as "everymen"- they're perfectly fine, intelligent, empathetic, well-written people, but they don't have strong characteristics that would separate them from *other* perfectly fine, intelligent, empathetic, well-written people.

So, ultimately, I'd say this story had potential. A *lot* of potential, in fact. But I don't think writing this sort of piece is the best use of your talents, and the end result is disappointing. Basically, I think you can do a lot better than writing one-shot erotic romance pieces, and I would very much like to see you attempt something more serious.

Fascinating and interesting to read. I swear I never missed a word. It left me with a sad bittersweet feeling with a tinge of hope at the end.

... the shared feeling of triumph I felt when they realized their feelings is like no other to me. Though I respect that you have other things to attend to, I cant help but hope and wonder what would happen when the first contact war ends and Shephard and Garrus meets again as fine soldiers as each species' representative. Its really an interesting thought when they go to a meeting as representatives and how they might react when they see each other again.

I can practically feel their emotions through your writing. Very amazing, well done. Thank you for your story!
