Reviews for Oyu No Ranma
Guest chapter 11 . 6/14/2017
It fed on his attraction to girls too didn't it?
dun dun duuun
Guest chapter 5 . 6/14/2017
Nabiki deserved that.
She deserves it in the original series even more.
She pushes until she finds the line then tries to back up, too bad she didn't back up in time.
If I were Ranma I would have worked her over as much as Genma would have let me, meaning she would have been one giant bruise.
Also Kasumi might be right about being cordial but if you are going to act like a bitch like Nabiki did while being surrounded by martial artists on all sides...
Then maybe knowing enough to jump from a 3 story building seems like a good idea.

'I can cook'
...
YOU EXPLODED WATER TRYING TO COOK IT
You didn't set it on FIRE you made it EXPLODE!
...
Sorry, I had to get that off my chest.
Thank you for writing this.

the cut-aways between other people are getting kinda annoying here. you leave things off vague and then cut back in after something happened, and kinda dance around what we readers missed.

Also as you have slowly been having ranma adapt, and identify as a girl, there is a big feeling of how this doesnt make sense. ranma has almost come to hate being a guy for no apparent reason. you have given a weak premise that everything that ranma knows now in nerima is as a girl, but that would be no reason to seemingly give on on 16 years of being a guy. the few weeks with mrs tendos spirit in her, wouldnt do this, it would simply make her more accepting of being both. feels like your just forcing the change to happen to fit the story you want without actually thinking it through.

This story is so fucking depressing and such a jumbled mess of mental gobbledygook that I had honestly hoped after last time that it would just remain unifnished. But after this newest trip on the Intense Yet Strangely Detached Angst Train, I'm going to try to remind myself not to come aboard again whenever the ride continues. Not even for the sake of morbid curiosity. Hopefully I haven't forgotten this feeling by then.

I absolutely love this story. However one thing in the recent chapters has bothered me. For a story with so much focus on gender identity, you have a curious tendency to use only pronouns according to physical gender. Shouldn't Akane be He and Ranma be She now? Even when Ranma has a male form she is very obviously a female just in an uncomfortable body at the time. Luckily for her it seems that won't be a problem for much longer though.

Thank you, I enjoyed reading your story a lot. There are some aspects of it that I'm not a huge fan of, but what matters at the end is that it was a great read. I can offer more comments later if you are interested, but I'm currently on my mobile (and at work).

Hope to see an update soon :)
Best wishes - Michael

Long LONG time reader here.

Going into this, I thought for a bit that I was reading a rework of Thyself Known... which made this a pretty crazy if confusing ride (that I am loving).

I look forward to finding out how much of Ranma's mindset (towards Tatewaki in particular) has brought out by the curse or just by being freed of the bonds of "manliness". I'm so happy that I stopped by to see if any of the old guard had shared anything... because this is great. Your writing is great. I'm inclined to believe that you, by proxy, are also probably pretty great.

Thank you for sharing so much of your time, heart, and headspace with us. I'll be sure to check in more often than once a year! Now to go re-read Thyself Known and make sure I'm not crossing any streams!
Hermione Blackwood chapter 18 . 5/23/2016
I've had to re-read this story from the beginning to refresh it for your latest update, and I know these things take a long time to make, but that ending really made me want the next part right away. A Nabiki/Ryoga pairing isn't something you see every day, so that was fun. I really would like more details on how Ranma having sex triggered the nekoken. And, of course, what this means going forward. Looking forward to the next one! Keep up the good work!

Very well written, original and informative. My hat's off to you.
But still: Kasumi & thumbtacks?
Chatwyn chapter 18 . 5/15/2016
No! Because of Nabiki and your own actions you've seen hell, not because of Ranma and Akane! No one made Nabiki become a witch to save her mom, she made the decision herself and you! You agreed to be her familiar! You went into it consensually! This musical chair thing is no one's fault but yourselves! Stop trying to eff other people over! ... I'm glad you guys are having fun with your relationship though. Come on Ryoga, look at your mom, she did fine. Copy her example and make friends.

I see Ranma's losing the ability to turn into a man. But hey, the end game was to become a girl since you associate all good things with being a girl... so you probably wouldn't care, if it weren't for the whole 'possibly die after 6 months' thing. Oh well. Good luck with Kuno.

Nice writing, keep it up :)
Chatwyn chapter 17 . 5/15/2016
Hmmm... I think its great that you're dealing with all of these identity issues (unlike in Ranma 1/2 where Ranma turns into a girl occasionally and there are no psychological consequences). But mostly, I like the drama (oh, Akane's made a horcrux, her 'pure self' is going on a crusade against perverts for reasons unknown even to herself, and her impure self has... seemingly randomly decided that she's trans... let's hope the two of these never meet up again).

Poor Nabiki has mommy issues (and now Ryoga and turning-male issues), poor Kasumi has a LOT of other issues and reads a bit like a (well-behaved) psychopath under all the nice behaviour, and whatever the hell is up with Tasuke/Kosuke? (A few chapters ago, I would've said: Look, you married a man who is completely heads over heels for you, you apparently liked him enough to have a kid with him, you've perfected your martial art and ki and you're now a successful business owner running a shop... your life is perfect! I'm sorry Kosuke that you had to give up your gender but ... you are clearly comfortable having **x with men ... Just shut up and forget about your ex from 10 years ago UGGGHH)

But now that I see its not Kosuke, but Nyanni who's taken over his (her) body this explains it a little. I was wondering how a man got comfortable enough to become a baby momma and thought 'wow, it must've been a hard ride but she must be very secure and know herself very well, respect' ... hahaha. ... But it doesn't explain everything... Nyanni doesn't seem to care about her husband which Akane murdered at all... so it was Kosuke who fell in love and decided to get married? Why have kids? And Nyanni just white-washed it so that Kosuke, being a man, wouldn't find the whole process of getting pregnant with another man's child incredibly traumatising?

(I also noticed that you changed Kosuke's 5-year old son into a daughter. I feel so sorry for that child. Kosuke (?) killed Akane's mom, but Akane just killed this girl's dad.)

In the middle of all this is Ranma, going out on dates with men, which okay, fair enough happens to be the healthiest one of all these characters. Stop angsting Ranma. You're doing okay.
