The Keeper of Worlds chapter 18 . 5/9/2016 Wow, lots crazier now:) |
DarkStrider chapter 18 . 5/3/2016 I had to read this from beginning to new instalment to remember everything, but I am very glad I did! I love this fic and I feel that your grasp of character and dialogue is brilliant. Here's hoping to see more soon. |
Minute Rice chapter 18 . 5/2/2016 Well, that was an interesting read. I started it because I find the concept interesting. What would it be like to suddenly have a huge part of your identity suddenly, and (seemingly) permanently altered? This story really addressed that question, and used it as a basis to explore all the characters. The main reason that I stopped watching Ranma was because the characters refused to develop. They had enough depth to be interesting, but they quickly fell into a pattern that was never broken. Your story, however, has characters develop, and that instantly gets my attention, once the interest in the premise has worn off. And the way that you slowly build up the supernatural elements is very interesting, and I constantly wonder where that side of the plot is going to go. I look forward to seeing more from this story. |
Lawra chapter 18 . 4/29/2016 This chapter feels exceptionally rushed and almost everything in Nerima needs to get fleshed out much more. The confrontation with Shiratori ends and results in nothing in only a couple paragraphs when it should be an event that has far more weight. Ranma's date with Kuno is meh. He's really not enough of a pushy asshole. There are canon examples of how he tries to date Ranma and each time she has ended up almost killing him because he doesn't understand what "no" means. Ranma's physical change after mastering a technique deserves more note than it working as a weak segue into sexy time with Akane. Who if really sees herself as a man probably wouldn't really want to have sex with a man as the woman. Why it ended in tears for Ranma isn't very obvious or why it involves a quick change of heart from earlier in the chapter where she had said she wanted to remain both for now. |
Kitten Arina chapter 1 . 4/29/2016 The length is nice but there is to much of a flashback dump going on here which is just to much nonsense to begin with. |
shugokage chapter 18 . 4/29/2016 Definitely an unique story great job! |
Vega-Sakusa chapter 17 . 4/11/2016 no update since 2013, great fic even if its a dead one. |
LightnigJack chapter 14 . 1/4/2016 ...NABS IS A WICTH!? |
apeljohn chapter 3 . 11/28/2015 Sweet Baldur on a bicycle, you've actually managed to make Genma into a sympathetic character. This is against all laws of god and man - I'm not sure whether to be deeply impressed or abjectly horrified at the abomination you have unleashed upon us. TL;DR: This is a really interesting take on the old panda. |
GalanthaDreams chapter 17 . 9/8/2015 The story is really something-a must read. |
BeyondSleepy chapter 16 . 6/11/2015 I reviewed the whole story in a post on chapter 17, but felt like adding this. Addendum: reviews for chapter 3 goes back to 2003, but reviews for chapter 4 only goes back to 2010. I hope for less than a 7 year wait (︵,) |
BeyondSleepy chapter 17 . 6/11/2015 I'm loving this fanfic and it hasn't been updated since 2013. Very tragic story... If you see this and think there is any chance that you will continue this story, or post more fanfiction at all, please reply so I'll know, k? This story has convinced me that you are one of the best fanfic authors I've come across (10 years of regular fanfic consumption says you're pretty good) but I hate the disappointment of reading unfinished stories when it looks like they will never be updated. At the end it doesn't feel like the story was worth the let down, although I'm happy I got to read this far as well. Hmm, it is hard to convey how I feel right now. Know that you've made a strong impression. I will look back on this as one of the good ones, and for years to come there will be a part of me that waits for the next chapter. I know this from bittersweet experience. Apart from that, I'll do my duty and point out a few of the things I would have said if I was writing this while the story was still being updated. Names: you are keep switching between the western and japanese conventions when it comes to the order of family name and given name. I prefer the japanese convention to the western one when japanese media are concerned. As you've pointed out the random use of japanese words jars the flow of the text, but to readers familiar with japanese the use of expressions without fully fledged, functionally equivalent english alternatives is preferable to the use of an approximate english expression (e.g. "tadaima" vs "I'm home"), and they add a good flavour to the text and setting as I experience it. When you have to (or want to) use a japanese noun and it is plural, it is okay to use japanese grammar and let context do the job of providing the plurality, as in japanese. The story made a lot more sense and got more interesting to me after you revealed in an author's note that the perspectives and tenses of the story are the results of magic and are experienced by the antagonist (Nyanni, Tasuke, Kosuke). Giving this information at the beginning of the story could be a good idea. Going into what I really like about this story and why feels like a bit of a project, so I won't do that now, but if you update the story I might. I see now that it took over 11 years to produce 17 chapters, so given the probability of temporally uneven distribution of chapters a 2 year gap no longer appears hopeless. Here's to hoping. |
Smozzick chapter 17 . 2/9/2014 Great Ranma story; so many twists! |
DarkStrider chapter 17 . 11/30/2013 I'm glad I read on. Confusing at first from the previously reviewed chapter, but ultimately very fulfilling. It was the rest of your writing style that tugged me on and this is an excellent chapter. Hope to see more! |
DarkStrider chapter 3 . 11/29/2013 I only got part-way through the chapter before stopping. PLEASE change the 'ore' and 'watashi' and all the other pseudo-japanese lingo as it is very hard to read and, for me, completely breaks the structure and enjoyability of the story. I shall read on and hope that the details change moving forward. |
