This is my second time reading this story. Maybe I reviewed this before I had an account, or I maybe I didn't. Whatever.

Anyways, you somehow are skilled enough to make a story really dark without it actually being dark. It's really rather frightening to be honest. There's just something about this that makes me want to crawl into a corner and hide. Maybe it's because I think I know what future events are, and that's changing the mood for me. Maybe it's because the character's are realistic, but there's just something off about them. Maybe it's because I keep comparing this to what I know of the manga, and seeing this next to an light hearted comedy makes this one just that much darker and serious. No matter what it is, it's terrifyingly brilliant.

you do know that back when they were learning about Kasumi's control of Tofu, I already expected Shiratori to be someone that does not have the cast's wellbeing in mind.
and back when Akane's soul was torn apart, I entertained the thought that Shiratori was an ally of Kosuke/Tasuke/Whatever, it would be amusing if whatever she plans has nothing to do with the other but I doubt it...
Am I the only one who thiinks that vial is going to be important again? it's unbreakable, it has enough magic in it that whatever water is put in it has the effect of the spring, and it is in the hands of a curious child that now knows how it works and is easily forgettable for Ranma because of minimal interaction...
Is it tied to Kirika's soul(or whatever fragment of it may be left)? I don't think Kosuke(or whatever it is) would not have a back-up plan in case Kirika tried to 'kill' herself to save Ranma...

Grr, such a cliffhanger. And all those issues with gender changes are really screwing with my mind. I love it.

Interesting, and surprisingly gripping. If I had my druthers, I wish your Ranma would own both genders, or transcend them.

I also wish your paragraphs were shorter; wall of text sometimes invites skimming and I find I'm hazy on the details.

Ah, Ranma probably won't end up with Akane? Well, with them being best friends it should be tolerable as long as Ranma doesn't end up with a guy shudder, which would be taking things too far.

Hiroshi's logic is flawed concerning the challenge rules. First, a hoard of opponents rushing you at once is by no means an official challenge. Second, a date is a dare, not a challenge, as there's no objective standard by which to measure victory or defeat.

While the Japanese language notes are kind of interesting, you're overdoing it. I wish you'd tone down the untranslated Japanese and leave most of the Japanese word puns (making fun of Ranma's name is okay) to stories originally written in that language. (While this is based off a Japanese story, what you're writing here is still an originally English work.)

That was interesting how the polarity of Ranma's "water magnetism" was reversed, although water was never physically "pulled" towards the Jusenkyo victims in canon.

However, what was Nabiki thinking spending 90,000 yen on a birthday present, especially when her family is financial trouble?! That's around $900 US! (or something like $450 today after adjusting for inflation) What kind of weight set costs that much, anyway?

There were some interesting twists, although I don't see how Soun could grow that much of a backbone that quickly just from the changes that had occurred up to that point.

I absolutely LOVE the scene where Akane tries to boil water the first time.

Hmm, this is a neat idea and an interesting way for Ranma and Akane to get off to a better start without Ranma being permanently locked. The only problem is that Akane is going to be really mad at him for lying to her for months after it wears off.
