I personally don't believe the Akane of canon is a lesbian. For one thing, in addition to her admitted attraction to Dr. Tofu, she does not demonstrate any attraction to any females in the cast, including Shampoo, who directly accuses her of being a lesbian. In addition, it's very obvious that the males that she regularly hits, Ranma, Kuno, and one-off characters like Sanzenin, are those that directly threaten her sexually, and she does not treat any woman that way. In fact, Akane is only "a hassle to deal with", as you put it, to Ranma. Sayuri and Yuka are very close friends that she treats with kindness and respect. (And if she was a lesbian, likely one of the two of them would be the first that she would approach)

To me, Akane's confusion about Ranma's girl form is due to the fact that she IS attracted to "her", and she's not sure where it is a sexual attraction, or just that Ranma is Ranma whatever the form. Likewise, Akane's inability to do anything feminine, and desire to be like Kasumi is a sort of running joke in the series, it is blown out of proportion because it is funny. Akane is trying to be something she is not, but it's not that she is a boy underneath, it is that she is a TOMBOY, underneath. She can actually be quite sweet and feminine, but only when she doesn't realize it. When she tries to be a girl, she tries too hard, and fails.

Then again, this is not canon, and your story is obviously an alternate universe. If your Ranma can be born as neither a girl nor a boy, and believe him/herself to be a girl, then certainly he/she can be accompanied by an Akane that is in love with the identity that Ranma believes him/herself to be.

You never fail to impress, but it has been so long that I'd forgotten just how powerful your storycrafting can be.
Ranma 1/2, its cast and canon, are all exceedingly precious to me. It has been a privilege and a delight to enjoy the wildly varied treatments that it receives in the hands of capable wordsmiths with a quality imagination such as yourself.

It's a sad truth that many of these adventures are never completed outside of the musings of their authors and that each of those fractals' stories are never seen or heard from again. I've been fortunate enough to walk in your wake and catch these fantastic glimpses that your seer's eye has captured since 2001 with Thyself Known. I have more fingers than I have authors who I follow that are still active on this site. I know that every update may be the last... and I wanted you to know that each is cherished as if it were.

You probably get this a lot, but your writing is fantastic. Your vision is thought-provoking. Your characterization and plot lines are moving and the care that you show to them is deeply appreciated. Thank you for all of the time you have spent in sharing your time and your love for these foolish kids and their parents, no matter which or how many branching visions of their story you indulge.

As always, I look forward with hope that you still have more to share.

It's rare to see the characters made actual people with reasons for their actions. You make Genma and Soun as actually 'human'. Also, Nabiki seems to be a total and complete bitch.

I recommend that you explain that Onna-Ranma is female Ranma because some reader don't know that Onna is the Japanese word for girl. Or you could remove the Onna because the pronouns you are using make it clear that Ranma is currently a girl.

This has been one of my favorite fan fictions for quite a while. It is a well crafted and coherent story. I just re-read the whole thing since I couldn’t remember everything that happened before. I was a bit concerned that the story is going “off the rails,” but it is your story, and you mentioned this in your closing notes, so I’ll trust your judgment here. In sum, this is a great story. Please keep the updates coming!
