This is so good!
RibbonRevolution chapter 5 . 4/14/2014
This fic has been on my favorites for so long! I had intentions of reading it but as time passed my favorites list grew and it got lost in a sea of miscellania. But I'm on a three week spring brake right now and I have a lot of time on my hands. So I figured, why not continue reading this story? It must be good if it's on my favorites. And so far, it's cute!
Plumcot chapter 31 . 4/11/2014
I just finished the story, and let me tell you it was amazing! You went so in depth, I really felt like I was a part of the story, experiencing what the characters were. Let me tell you, I'm glad you didn't go for the "Happy happy, his parents accept him" ending. It would have been nice, but totally unrealistic, and I found myself having a lot more fun with the storyline you chose. Can I just say, though, that I am a bit disappointed with the underrepresentation of females in the story. It seems like all the female characters are either A, housewives, B, vapid gossips, or C, girls who are supposed to be masculine but still wear skirts. And Arthur seemed to spend a lot of time complaining about and stereotyping girls for someone who spent a good bit of the story wishing people wouldn't just see him as "the gay boy". Perhaps look into finding more diverse, female characters? Maybe even a main character? Other than that, I think your ability to create believable characters is amazing. You had a wonderfully diverse amount of male characters, at the least; the punk, the nerd, the gay boy, the bi boy, the effeminate straight boy. And let me commend you on your portrayal of Daniel, proving that not all friends-with-benefits relationships end in either dating or disaster. Bravo!

Oh wow, this was a wonderful fic. Technical-wise and emotion/enjoyment/etc-wise. Beautiful pacing, language, progression, realism. Not at a single point did the story falter or drop in quality. It was great to read, and even though I'm not that accustomed to reading this pairing I can say with confidence you wrote this wonderfully. I must applaud you for entwining canon characters with well-developed OC's so nicely; it's great to branch out from the Hetalia cast.
You followed these two over, what, 7 years of their lives? And you made the story so complete, so... real. It's awful seeing all of the shit people put them through. I wonder what decade or so you had in mind for the setting, because I sure as hell hope all of that wouldn't just be the default for today.
And congrats on being the second longest fic I've read so far XD I admire the dedication and time you put into this! Simply amazing.
Overall wonderful job
asdfgh chapter 31 . 4/8/2014
I woke up at six in the morning and sat at my computer all day just so I could read this to the end. And I'm so glad I did.
Your story captivated me from the first sentence to the last. You managed to perfectly capture how different people will drift in and out of a person's life, and shape them the way that a potter shapes a lump of clay. The awkwardness of growing up, the naivety of childhood and the absolutely unique feeling of being in love, you described it all perfectly, and though the story was long I found that I just couldn't stop reading. I think you also addressed how society viewed homosexuals very well.
Thank you for writing this!

"Drawing unicorns doesn't make you an artist."
Well, there goes my career.
Alice-Echo-Kikie chapter 19 . 4/6/2014
I really love this story, even though it's complete. I noticed that for the bullying scenes you add...extraordinary amount of...knowledge detail. Was it just a lucky guess or do you have experience? This chapter made me cry...

I don't really ship USUK but i just popped into the filter to see if there was anything worth reading in here and oh my God I did not expect this. This story was so fantastic I couldn't stop reading, Jesus Christ. And the whole thing, Arthur's whole approach to his homosexuality, is so similar to mine. Like, this story is so fucking relatable and the characters feel so real. I might cry. Thank you for writing this, really.
