Reviews for A splintered heart
Adia chapter 1 . 8/21/2011
I began reading 'Ribbons' last night and realised that I never commented on this, despite loving it. I'm really glad you are continuing the story - particularly seeing some of the background for your Rain and Kivan. You have really captured the pain of the PC loving Kivan despite his situation and aloofness for much of SoA. I remember just feeling so bad for my character when playing the mod and the position they are in of loving a character who does not (initially, at least) love them back. And I felt exactly the same when reading this. ...I'm so glad you continued this and gave the character a happy ending! :D

Wonderful story, though there were a few areas where the wording could be a bit better. just PM me if you wish to know where.

Shadowhawke chapter 1 . 9/4/2010
Wow. That was really, really, really powerful. Beautifully evoked and heartfelt... you really brought both of the characters and their longing to life. Thanks so much for sharing such beauty with us.
Vild Runescarred chapter 1 . 6/30/2010
Whoah. Sad, in a good way. Kivan was one of the few good - aligned characters I liked: loyal, devoted and calm. There is a certain similarity between him and the post - Irenicus Bhaalspawn. You captured both this fact and Kivan's character in a really skillful way. :)

Ipsissimus chapter 1 . 6/1/2010
Kivan? Yay! I like the way you portray the various NPCs-you summed them up quite well, IMO. Though I think it's "kensai," not "kensei." I think perhaps my favorite part was the way you described Rain's soullessness. It really shouldn't be as simple as it is in-game. Interesting thought, though, that the PC would keep some emotion-sort of like Irenicus keeping his ambition. Or am I completely misinterpreting the story? Anyway, I enjoyed reading :)
Lalaithe chapter 1 . 5/31/2010
This is quite beautifully written, I must say. Very lovely, floating descriptions. Good to see a Kivan romance too-the ranger doesn't get enough love! Looking forward to more.
