I need to say here, on this chapter, that the ideal means so much to me with the meeting of families who must *decide* to accept someone new or not, and especially the parents portrayed and their feelings and reactions. It's not clean or beautiful or poetry like fiction often is, but it's relatable.
Some family you're born into, some you choose, and some you stumble into, or others are offered to your heart to take in or deny.
I also really love the way Optimus goes about it, how he doesn't push to be accepted, because nobody should ever be forced or coerced into accepting people they're not prepared for. That's autonomy and free will and the "right of all sentient beings" for choice. The fact that he's not horning in makes it more likely he'll be accepted, but he's humble and gracious (is that the right word?) enough to accept that not everyone will accept *him*.

As someone who will take blood family in any day, who will open heart and arms for people I choose as my family blood or not, still that option of choice is strongly appreciated. I control my heart, but my heart is not locked so tight that kindness and genuine people aren't able to open it. It may not be an "open house" per se, but the mat says "Welcome!" and there's a pot of tea on for whoever drops in, or so the sentiment goes.
Kindness offered is reciprocated, with more ready in the wings. Lol, pass the 'vibe check" and there's not much I won't do for you.

Anyway, I've loved this portion of the story very much, and after reading it enough times and feeling the same appreciation and relatability each time, it seemed like y'all might like to know that it is indeed appreciated. I like how you handled it.

You know, it comes though reading this another time (can’t say a second time, because I’ve read this story way more than that) where I notice more things that I missed on initially reading this chapter. Like watching a movie the first time and rewatching it again for reasons. Same with this chapter, lol. Really packed more of a punch!

Merrr, a bit grumpy after finishing this and now having to wait (starts ranting in a different room about wanting the author to hurry but also knows it's much better to not rush a great story, and now waiting and pouting like I did while waiting for Godzilla vs Kong to come out. )
As much as this pains everything impatient in me , take all the time you need and I hope your muse stays with you so you can get to the end. This was great and I'm looking forward to reading the sequel when you start posting.

No matter how many times I read this I will never not think that not bringing Jazz back was a mistake. He should be here because I think you all would write him so well. I was always so very deeply looking forward to hearing him in a Botosphere story. I sincerely hope you will reconsider. I loved reading him in Masks. I adore him in Turning Point. I think reading him in a Botosphere production would be the pinnacle in a trifecta of awesomely written stories. Please please pleeeeease reconsider! Pretty please with whipped cream and a dusting of it’s about slagging time shimmer sugar on top! I always skip these chapters about the failed attempt because they make me frustrated and depressed all at once. Give some love to the Jazz-meister!
