Another fantastic chapter! Since you're keeping the story as realistic as possible, it makes me wonder how things will go in terms of plot. It's nice that I can't predict at all how things will turn out, though also somewhat frustrating. lol. Looking forward to reading more!

Relieved to find Maddie back again in "civilization", although I imagine Imladris is even better than our modern earth civilization. So, are you going to pair her with anyone in Arda, especially if she is going to stay in Arda permanently? It would be terribly lonely for Maddie, if she dies alone. How's that for a hint? LOL. Fascinating story.

This is my first time to read through a LOTR fanfic where the characted fainted from her first sight of an elf. Perfect and unhumanly beautiful as they are, they can almost be aliens, but far from the grotesquely/grossly looking monsters as they are usually described. It's great that Maddie finally reached "civilization", but we don't know yet how you are going to play out the elves reaction to her. It can be too that they can be obnoxious to strangers. Great story.

Love this story so far. It's so realistic. Shame there will be no romance though, I mean, Maddie has to have a valid reason for ending up in Arda. Maybe she could be 'given' immortality by the valar in exchange for Luthien giving hers away. Or something. Or hey, do an Erestor romance. That should be unusual enough.

Hello there! I just stumbled across this story by browsing through someone's favorite stories list and what an uncommonly pleasant surprise it's been.

I have a bit of a weakness for girl falls into Middle Earth stories, but only if they're well written. This one certainly is. Not only do you take pains to make the situations realistic, the story itself is very interesting. I find myself imagining what I would do in Maddie's place, and I have to say she's handing everything much better than I ever would.

I am really, really looking forward to reading more.

Amazing job on this story so far! You've really made it as realistic as possible; I'm very impressed. The only other LOTR fic I've read that is as realistic as yours is "Don't Panic," so it's nice to find another well-written LOTR fic that is not ridiculously Mary Sueish. I've actually never considered that meeting elves would be very distressing, but it makes so much sense. I have no criticism for you. :)

Oh, and the chapter where Maddie is almost raped was a nice twist (well, maybe not nice - that sounds wrong... interesting?). It is believable that dishonourable men would take advantage of a poor young woman who can't speak their language. Usually I like entertaining the idea of what it'd be like to be in Middle Earth (mostly because of the idea of chivalry lol), but the stark reality you depict is enough to make any reader second-guess wishing for such a thing.

Well, I don't blame MAddie for fainting. I'd be a little wonky after all that too. I really think you're and excellent writer, and you really hit that "realistic" mark. I can't wait to read more!

I honestly think most people would faint after many days of bad eating and sleeping and seeing someone so obviously not human.

Wow I loved this. The ending was very good. In most stories the girl doesn't faint at the sight of an elf. Osually it's an orc! This story is very different and very good! I look forward to the rest of it!
