![]() ![]() ![]() Aww i love this story so much. One of the best epilogues out there too. The concept was original and i had fun reading it. The relationship between these two was well written and developed. The tent scene was beautifully written. Thank you for giving us this amazing work of art. |
![]() ![]() Why oh why the poor son is albus severus again? Appart from that I really love it! |
![]() ![]() ![]() A well written story, i liked it ! There are some clichés phrase but it's a romance story, of course there will be some in there ! And the lack of bashing was really appreciated, glad you didn't fall into this trap. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Liked this lots. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Love the use of the Mirror of Erised. It's one of my favorite things to use in my own stories and you use it excellently here. Good stuff. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I loved it. I loved your plot - it was interesting and well done. I can see how it could be considered slow at the beginning, but I love H/Hr so much that I found it quite entertaining the whole way through. I love when others include other aspects of the magical world that weren't explored as thoroughly as in canon. In your case, I thought the numerology portion was great. My one and only complaint about this story is that future!Harry seemed a little too all-knowing-wise-guy, but even still, it was done nicely. Fantastic work. One of my favs! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Just as wonderful a read the second time as the first. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I was very impressed by this story. It played by the rules of canon, kept just the perfect pace, mixed things up just enough to be unpredictable, and added just the perfect touch of romance. While not the canon-destroying, world-rewriting, character-bending, story that most people think of when they consider fan fiction, it's refreshing to read a story where I didn't need to rethink everything I once thought I knew about canon. On a side-note, the ending was perfect. This is high praise considering that I have a deep-seated loathing for endings. Later, Rex |
![]() ![]() ![]() Meh. Can't get into this. The story's all over the place, and I absolutely hated the epilogue, so anything related to that instantly loses about 3 stars no matter what else it does. Done. |
![]() ![]() ![]() One of the best stories I've ever read on this site. |
![]() ![]() Ok, I believe it's been more than five years since I last reviewed a work on FF... but this is a really GOOD story! I'm having some pretty crazy theories here... and a strange feeling that I'm right about most (if not ALL) of them. Great job! Harmony still in 2015! :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() I still don't get why he didn't just go back in time to before Hermione died and stun and hide her before the fight where she dies even starts. |
![]() ![]() ![]() The story is a great retcon of canon, but still legitimizes canon events while simultaneously depicting Harry/Hermione. Only it assumes that they are consciously aware of their feelings and not in denial but refuses to act on them purely because of guilt and misunderstanding. True canon in regards to Harry/Hermione seems to work on a subconscious and subtextual level like in Stanrick's stories and discussions (I've recently been reading them, so that's why I bring them up). But this story really shows the depth of love and devotion Hermione has for Harry. However, it also goes to great lengths to show Ron in a good light. I disagree with the degree to which it is done and take fault with how much of his less savory actions and characteristics are ignored. Sure, he can still be Harry's best mate and a mostly good person, but to disregard what he's done and the subtext is disappointing. And though I can't believe Ron and Hermione could ever work out according to the evidence and foundation of their relationship, I reluctantly concede that to stay true to canon events, i.e. the epilogue, the you must show it as such. It still leaves a bad taste in the mouth to even partly legitimize that relationship at all and to even consider Hermione has or could have had feelings for Ron. It leaves a bad taste in the mouth to think that he could have made her happy, treated her right, and loved her just as much as Harry. I know, to be realistic, one might be happy with many different people, and it all depends on circumstances. One may even love multiple people at the same time but love one person more, but this is fiction and FanFiction for god sake. In this case, I want the one and only. I want the ultimate love. (No insult to polyamorous relations is intended. Those can be just as interesting.) It seems only a consolation prize to say it was all a lie due to some screwy timelines and maybe the love would have been supposedly deeper with Harry if things had gone down that path. I guess the lovemaking scene in the tent shows she would always be past-Harry's no matter what but not when they became who they are in the future, i.e. future-Harry. That is a little convoluted and tenuous and brings up some weird topics on identity. Mostly I'm upset that Ron had a chance at all. The whole thing seems wrong. After the timeline shenanigans, the story felt rehash-y. The romance seemed forced and less interesting. Well... except for the last scene... I like the appearance of the mirror of erised. It was a artful throwback to the first book something the canon needed along with more set up and foreshadowing, a deeper sense and presence of the lore/mythology. It was masterful how things came full circle and the discussions on time, destiny, life, death, and love. But one thing to commend you most on was the insertion of love, specifically romantic love, and its power, another aspect so desperately need in canon. The whole story has its basis in great ideas but balances on the edge of apologist territory for some of the mistakes canon has made with the plot and characters, legitimizing certain events and preventing character from acting naturally and following things to more logical, realistic conclusions, letting the character be themselves, again, something canon is guilty of in the later books. I love happy endings, but things worked out too perfectly it seemed, with no hard feelings. It not like I wanted some pyrrhic victory or something, but everything was sickeningly clean and perfect, which, once again, is something canon is guilty of as well. Maybe some more dramatic changes would have been better. I may be a hypocrite with this comment wanting Harry as Hermione's sole and ultimate love but begrudging you this happy ending, but I stand by this. I mean all off this criticism in the best possible way. Nevertheless, this is a very well written story and assuredly has seized my attention and thought and forced me write one of my longest reviews. Despite my misgivings, I must say in all honesty, great work. |
![]() ![]() ![]() That was so incredibly brilliant. The power of love indeed. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I live how you come full circle in this chapter. it really adds to the time travelling effect |
