| casammy chapter 1 . 5/22/2011
Sammy is the dean's baby, of small and even if he is 90 years old:) I believe that jared in real life takes an allergic problem as that when last year was in the convention of españa, was sweating very much and jensen I ask him if it is going to want a handkerchief and jared said that it was sweating because of the medicine that I take for the allergy
| TheSlashBunny chapter 1 . 3/19/2011
Oh wow. That was well-written enough that it brought back a few memories that I'd rather not have. I remember having to have my sister help me with my inhaler before during a really bad attack. *shudders* Sam was more stubborn than I ever am, though. Thank goodness he still listens to Dean's orders when it really matters.
Do you have asthma by any chance? You had that interaction down pat. The barking sound, the panic, the instinctive wanting-to-curl-in-on-yourself-but-knowing-that-it-won't-help, the relief, the shaking, and the desperate need to curl up in a little ball and sleep.
Anyway, this is getting a little long. I loved it. Thanks for sharing this with all of us.

Great one shot, I love an asthmatic Sam :)
| jensengirl4eva chapter 1 . 8/26/2010
Wonderful Sam always get the short end of the stick, but I love it.
| ziggy.uk chapter 1 . 7/27/2010
Really enjoyed this and loved the two different scenarios, one with young Sam and the other adult Sam. Awesome concerned and comforting Dean, soothing his little brother through the attack.
| TraSan chapter 1 . 7/24/2010
Oof. I HATE that feeling of not being able to get enough air.
Loved the h/c (emphasis on C) in this story.
Plus, well, you hit one of my favorite "get Sam" triggers and I gotta love me some big bro Dean.
| hiii chapter 1 . 7/21/2010
Soo... loved this crazy much
The story's clearly well thought out, the characterization is great, I love the angst and h/c, and the actual quality of writing is excellent (something that's sometimes hard to find on this site)
Did you ever expand on the "Had a nasty flare-up at Stanford"?
- cause I'd looove to read it :)
| devon99 chapter 1 . 6/15/2010
I really enjoyed this. My sister has asthma and I could really feal the truth in this. Nicely done indeed. There's nothing better than protective, big-brother Dean.
| NetMyne01 chapter 1 . 6/13/2010
So much hurt!Sam, wonderful! I truly liked it a lot. Keep up the good work, ever thought of doing a sequel?
| maxandkiz chapter 1 . 6/9/2010
I loved how you started with them as little boys and then moved to them being grown.
Dean did a great job of taking care of Sam during and after the attack. Hope you plan on writing more about Sam with asthma. I love reading about hurt Sam and big brother Dean. :)
| Marianna Morgan chapter 1 . 6/9/2010
OMG! I freakin' LOVE this! I've read it at least three or four times, savoring each part 'cause you just capture the brothers so well! I can literally see everything that's happening.
Wee!chesters...AW! So adorable and sweet and just...GUH! Love! And even though I'm not usually a fan of John, I actually liked him here, being attentive and caring. Good for you for showing him in that light 'cause he couldn't have been a hard ass ALL the time, especially early on. And Dean being attentive and prepared and one step ahead when it comes to taking care of his Sam even when he's only six? Perfect!
And speaking of perfect...DUDE! You captured the asthma attack PERFECTLY! I actually felt myself drawing up as I was reading because it was so intense and felt like they were running out of time and just...AH! And then Dean helping Sam use the inhaler and comforting him and pulling him down and noticing his racing pulse and letting him sleep and just...YES!
And then the last line, with Dean staying awake all night to monitor Sam's breathing? Loved that - SO Dean!
I love your stories! They make me so happy! More, please!
| sammygirl1963 chapter 1 . 6/9/2010
Poor Sammy, he really had a rough time with that asthma attack didn't he. I can sympathize with him, though my asthma hasn't been that bad yet.
| Eve2006 chapter 1 . 6/9/2010
Really good idea - would like to see a sequel or maybe even a story about the flare up at Stanford.
| okayokayokay chapter 1 . 6/9/2010
Yes. Freaking yes. (I know that phrase makes absolutely no sense :P)
I loved this! I made some pretty strange squeaking noises while I was reading this and my roommate was giving me weird looks :) But it was so awesome! I read it like 3 times!
Your wee!chesters were so perfect, I love Dean being all worried, and when he’s already got the hot water turned on by the third night. So adorable!
Mmm…Sam with asthma. I feel like a freak for actually enjoying that…but your descriptions are so good…Sam’s massive chest, the leaning heavily on Dean that lets him know that it’s pretty bad…
And oh my gosh I felt so panicky! You conveyed that really well, the sense that Sam couldn’t breathe and it all happened so fast, and the rush to find the inhaler.
I love when Dean pulls Sam, who’s all shaky and quiet, to him and runs his hands through his hair and rubs his temple…it was a very comforting image.
The last line is so good, and I love the fact that Dean stays awake to listen to Sam’s breathing.
You are so freaking awesome.
