![]() ![]() That was horrible, don't take this the wrong way, I loved it, but you freaking killed the ending. What's wrong with you? You couldn't have let my poor heart believe that maybe Picard loved him back. Frick! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Lovely character study. You wrote from Q's perspective extremely well and the part where he doesn't realize he's had an orgasm is funny. This fic isn't at all consistent with my rather unusual ideas about how human sexuality works (in short, I don't think there's a clear-cut and naturally occurring division between gays, straight people etc. - it's complicated) but I'm willing to forgive you for that and favorite this fic anyway. Exploring the implications of relationships being one-sided is not something I see often in a fic, especially in such a well-written way. (Too bad many of my ships are one-sided and I might even dislike the conventional pairing where the feelings are mutual...) I personally prefer to think that same-sex relationships are actually very common in the Star Trek universe but they always happen offscreen. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I stayed up late reading this one. It was really disturbing in a good way; as in, it upset typical conventions and didn't give me a happy ending. There wasn't a lot of P/Q interaction, but there wouldn't BE a lot of Q/P interaction in those circumstances. It really cemented something that I've always suspected, which is that Picard is most fascinated by the Q that is fully Q, not the mortal Q. The mortal Q is just... a terrible person. The normal Q, while being a terrible person, is also an absolutely wonderful person - two extremities that lend themselves to being omnipotent. IMHO, the story got a little bogged down at the end with all the description of homosexuality in Star Trek which, while that interests me, does not interest me more than Picard and Q interacting, and so I was perturbed when their only scene together was diluted by that exposition. But the overall concept was... hauntingly sad. Beautiful. Thing is, I think Q would kill himself eventually. Once they kicked him off the Enterprise, something I think that invariably would happen. His main interest in humans was Picard. Otherwise, what's the point? Makes me wish there was a sequel where Q DID get back his powers and then had to deal with the fallout then, the drama of him knowing Picard didn't like him without his powers. |

![]() ![]() ![]() Oh how I want more! Poor Q, no one understands you D: |
![]() ![]() ![]() This was lovely! :'D |
![]() ![]() ![]() This. Was brilliant. I'm actually really glad it was unrequited. Made it more realistic. And good god, you keep everyone so in-character I almost can't believe it. Riker is SUCH a dick, and LaForge is just perfectly irritated. This was incredible. |
![]() ![]() ![]() this was amazingly well-written and very interesting. You put in a lot of powerful statements about humanity. I'd even go so far as to say this is the deepest fic I've read on this site. From your writing, I find you very intelligent and thoughtful. Thank you for posting this. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I am in awe of your detailed narrative! The different emotions tearing Q apart, the naturally-flowing conversations, the many different relationships between crew members; all of it is written so wonderfully. Data's explanation of sexuality to Q is a nice moment of humor to brighten up an otherwise serious theme. Thank you for sharing a such a wonderful story with us readers! |
![]() ![]() ![]() NICE! |
![]() ![]() ![]() This story was amazing! |
![]() ![]() Well written. I really like your story. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This was so addicting I had to literally drop everything and keep glued to the screen until I finished. How to you write Q so well? I am so envious! |
![]() ![]() Very entertaining, and interetingly put together. Thanks for sharing. Q needs more cuddles... someone needs to program "cuddles make sad humans feel better" into Data. |
![]() ![]() ![]() You've an eye for detail and a wonderful way with dialogue, and I very much appreciated (though was naturally disappointed by) Picard's gentle disinterest in a romantic relationship. Emotionally truthful and poignant. Lovely, as always. |
