I am re-reading this story after a few years, as I wanted to read something I *know* I will like. And yes, it is stil so, so good. That is actually the sign of good literature, that you can read it several times and it does not get old, you enjoy it every time and you find something new every time.
This Emmett of yours is just perfect. I love it that he is "true to the original" but also a person of his own.
Thank you for sharing your talent.

First I should not read this while at work. How do I explain the tears.
As an adult daughter taking care of a mom at home with numerous issues I can't tell you *how* much your story speaks to me. Of love, duty, financial issues, sadness, depression, joy. It's remarkable. What speaks to be the most is the hope - the possibility - that there's a life ahead of this. Your whole life is there to be lived.
None of this makes sense. Your story is gorgeous and it means so much to me. Thank you.
