Like DUST, this was one of the first fics in the Buffy verse I ever read. I didn't comment at the time for RL reasons, but I wanted to let you know how very much I loved this! In time, I'll definitely read it again, and then I'll leave some more reviews.
I know you've heard that a lot, but when I hear or read 'epic story', this is what comes to my mind. Always.

Wow. Wow. This is everything that I was hoping for and more when I went searching for Spuffy fanfiction. I cannot describe how perfect this journey was.

The characters were spot on. The plot was inventive and exciting. The character growth was handled astoundingly well. You really made my heart ache for everybody, especially Buffy and Spike, of course. I really wish I had more to say, but honestly, I can't think of anything beyond the fact that this is most certainly one of the best fanfics I've ever read. Absolutely perfect.

I've been reading this for the past week, largely offline which is why I haven't reviewed until now (I had no Internet but the handy app lets you download stories). This is one of the top 5 best fanfiction stories I have ever read. I was hooked from the very first chapter and found it nearly impossible to put down when real life beckoned. I love the changes, the foreshadowing, the beautiful build-up of Spike and Buffy's relationship and the slow, honest way that it changes... and I really love the idea of Mr. Gordo! You really had me going with his identity! I thought it was Spike but I constantly second guessed myself along with Buffy.

The smutty goodness was so beyond worth waiting for, truly. It was so heartwarming when they were finally together and talking about everything... And gods, Spike's inability to believe that she was real just tore my heart apart and was so true to his character... I could go on and on all day about how much I loved this story, I really could. It was just fantastic and I wanted to thank you for putting it out here and your betas for helping with the polish. Honestly, this is a lot better than some books I've read. Truly beautiful work and I know that I will be re-reading it in the future!

MY GOD! The level of research, the structure, the characters, THE CHARACTERS! MY GOD THIS IS PHENOMENAL! You not even managed to deviate from canon, and still keep it coherent, but even managed to create a storyline that had less holes in it than the canon (not that I didn't adore the canon, but I still don't know how it's Buffy's death that turned off the blood (what?) and closes the rift)! If that isn't skill I don't know what is. I loved how all your changes all had reason and research behind them to back them up so they didn't feel forced. And By God do I love these characters! Not only are they true to the canon, but equal time is given to their strengths as well as their faults. They are treated equally and fairly. Even Riley who in one FanFiction ended up dead in a dumpster. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. The relationship between Spike and Buffy, the hallmark of story, complete win. Thank you again for not just acknowledging that Spike is bad but never giving it up as part of who he is. That these two need to accept and trust each other fully, that even soul mates are not exempt from working on their relationship together. THEY'RE HUMAN! God, now I want to see him take her to Disney Land and Europe, I bet he'd love to show her around Europe. SEE! SEE! This is how you know you're a good writer, because you make people want more. Bottom line, this is my favorite Eros and Psyche interpretation hands down. Better than anything I've seen in the Greek Myths category. What more can I say that you should be exceedingly proud of what you've created here and to Keep It Up. Be Safe and Well.

This is another one of your works that I love to revisit from time to time. I love the myth/fairy tale that you based this on and it was fascinating to see it play out between Buffy and Spike. I will admit that on rereads I sometimes read the Buffy part and then skip to part 3. Other times I'll just read Spike's side and then read to the end. So yeah, I've read the last part the most. :) I really love reading Buffy's journey with the various "winds" and your villain is great. Plus it's cool how most of the monsters tied to the theme even if it took the Scoobies a while to figure it out. It's obvious you put a lot of time and effort into this and the finished product is amazing.

Like you, I never really cared for the show when it was still running but I kinda got hooked when I took a seminar on Gothic Fiction and had to write an essay about the Buffy vs Dracula episode...Aanyway, enough about me!
I cannot describe how much I enojoyed reading your story! I love that you took your time, developed a gripping plot line and stayed true to the characters - there's nothing more disappointing than getting into a story and the moment the charcters find out they're in love everything goes all lovey-dovey and downhill from there.
You really did a great job and I can't wait to check out your other works!

This has been by far my most favourite Spuffy story ever since being introduced to the fandom earlier this year. I have to say that usually I prefer reading shorter more smut filled fanfics however I thought I would take a chance with this one and was so glad that I did because I definitely did not find it lacking in any way at all in comparison to my usual and also I loved the integration of all the poetry which only enriched the relationship between Spike and Buffy. One more thing, this has been one of the first fanfics that I've read that includes Buffy realising the difference between Angelus and Angel and then how different Spike himself is from both of those characters. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed this fanfic and your writing style which I will be exploring further :)
