![]() ![]() ![]() I’m oddly satisfied that Buffy and Spike continue to share dreams outside of their original space. Although so much has changed between them, this unique bond has only managed to grow stronger. |
![]() ![]() You make that a one shot, you know Spike helping Buffy shop? I can imagine the playful bickering right now. |
![]() ![]() ![]() This is long overdue. This was AWESOME! This was an epic alternative to S5, leaving Dawn and Glory out completely, and still managed to be as tightly written as the original. Brava, and thank you. |

![]() ![]() ![]() figure now's a good time to write a review to thank you. I loved your idea of Mr. gordo. I'm a huge fan of the dawn idea so I had put off reading your story. and while I do miss dawn I am so glad I had the opportunity to read this truly unique take on a different hell God. you stayed true to characters and still had them learn different things about themselves. thank you again |
![]() ![]() I love this. I really really do. |
![]() ![]() First I think I know what it's like to have a mild heart attack now(I just left a comment that said this was canon to me and if you killed Spike I seriously don't know what I would have done.) Second I really love that you gave Buffy a salary. That just makes me really happy. |
![]() ![]() I literally do not care, this is fucking canon! I love this story so much! This is what Spike and Buffy deserved. UGGHHH I LOVE THIS! |
![]() ![]() "God is afraid of bears" I can't explain how squeaky this story has made me. You have captured Spike essence perfectly! |
![]() ![]() ![]() First of all, I honestly don't know how I have managed to not read this story before now. I know it was on at least one (of my many) to-read lists in the past, but somehow I'm only getting to it now. Better late than never, I suppose. But still, I'm kicking myself. Because this was draw-you-in-so-you-don't-have-a-life-outside-of-reading level of good. Truly, it was so good on so many levels it was hard for me to find a place to stop reading. How you managed to weave in existing show plots and dialogue with original material was seamless. And even though East of the Sun and West of the Moon is one of my favorite fairytales and I knew some of what was to come, the way you made it so authentically Buffy was spectacular to watch (read) unfold. I would really like to believe that this is how Season 5 actually happened, that is how drawn into this world that you created I was. There was a perfect blend of mythology, romance, action, character development, and humor along with the (sadly expected) tragedy. And boy, did you have me sobbing my eyes out when Joyce died. You really tapped into something powerful with those chapters in particular. But most importantly, your characterizations were what really made me fall in love with this story. You did such an amazing job with everybody, portraying them as nuanced people with both good and bad sides to them. Not just Buffy and Spike, but Riley and Xander and Anya and Willow and Giles as well. Even Tara, who is just plain lovely, has more depth here, I feel like, and it was a joy to read. You didn't make anyone into a paragon of anything or a caricature of themselves. Everybody had their demons to face (literally and figuratively), and while some battles might just be starting for some characters (i.e. Willow), you provided the promise of learning and growth (i.e. in Xander's case) as well as examples of lessons hard-won (i.e. Buffy and Spike). I love that everyone is on their own paths and yet they still are able to come together in an organic way as the Scoobies. Nothing seemed forced. The other beauty in all of this is that I can see possibilities for the future where Tara doesn't have to suffer her Season 6 fate or Anya her Season 7 fate. (And the fact that Dawn was so easy to write out of the story was just icing on the cake :D) Like any good story, there's always an end to things. And this was definitely one of those ends that I both highly anticipated and dreaded. Anticipated because I couldn't stop wanting to know what happened next and dreaded because I knew eventually there would be no written 'next'. I'm so happy to have been able to read this. Your hard work and the work of your betas and support team is beyond appreciated, even years after the story was completed. This is a masterpiece and I know I will re-read this in years to come. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for all of your work. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Interesting opening chapter. |
![]() ![]() I found it. That one line. It burned into my head yeas ago, and ive spent a week trying to track down the author, thinking it be somewhere up with Robert frost. If I am to dust, let it be from her passion not her hatred; give me here fire, let me burn Powerful words |
![]() ![]() ![]() Love this so much! |
![]() ![]() I'd almost forgotten how good this fic was. Holy crap. |
![]() ![]() This is my third time reading this fic, but my first time making it through Part II. I'm not sure how I did it this time, (it probably has something to do with the homework I haven't started,) but I'm glad I did. |
