| Swedish fan chapter 1 . 2/18/2013
Loved it! I must admit I was so moved that I actually had a few tears trickle down my cheeks while I read. Beautifully written! You truly have a talent!
| Lothlorien Aeterna chapter 1 . 1/25/2012
Absolutely adored this :)
| ClaMiAl chapter 1 . 12/23/2011
Oh man, so sad. The euthanasia scene had me in tears. Poor Jane, having to do that.
| justcrazy chapter 1 . 8/2/2011
Heartbreaking and truly beautiful!
| 221b Baker Street chapter 1 . 7/14/2011
Wow. Obviously you have horses, as do I. I guessed that after reading Red Brick Road. Today, I just put off the decision to take my old dog out to the stable to be euthanized, along with another young horse suffering from severe navicular. I watched Marley and Me with my hubby last night and realized that my old girl is not quite telling me 'it's time', yet. Anyway, your story made me cry. Thanks for that. It feels good. Chat soon, B-street
| Purple Piggie chapter 1 . 7/7/2011
I snooped your page because I am enjoying your story "Red Brick Road" so much, and found this little gem. You had me crying while the horse was put down. I needed 2 kleenexes! It felt like Jane's little girl was dying all over again with the horse. Your descriptions were quite accurate too, which I am happy to see. I am a big fan of realistic medical/veterinary depictions. The only part unrealistic for me was how low the vet's fee was for all she did. Sorry, I just couldn't let that one little detail go!
| MentalistLover chapter 1 . 4/29/2011
I can't really write much about this because I am so emotionally drained right now. This is absolutely beautiful. So sad and touching and-gah! After reading this and Red Lightning, know that I will read ANY Mentalist story you write! You are amazing. I cannot wait for the multi-chapter TM fic you mentioned in your profile. I do hope it is coming very soon!
| MeltedChocoButton chapter 1 . 4/22/2011
Such a beautiful, sensitively written moving and understated, a pleasure to read.
| MeggieGirl chapter 1 . 3/6/2011
At first I didn't think I would like this honestly. But wow was I wrong. A tearjerker for sure. The emotions in this story are so raw, so perfectly in charectar, and Lisbons reactions to both his asking for tie off and afterward are so amazingly in charector. I really don't know why this has only 12 (soon to be 13) reviews, an undiscovered jem I say. :)
| xanderseye chapter 1 . 2/24/2011
OMG, I almost couldn't read the fic for the tears. Very well written, when Flame heard Jane's voice and was trying to see him I had to get the tissues out.
I look forward to reading more of your fics and I agree, the Black Stallion books were excellant, I remember reading them as a child.
| Time Lady 802379 chapter 1 . 2/21/2011
I very rarely cry at character deaths in fanfiction, yet here I am, crying at the death of a horse, who I never knew existed until it had to die... How'd you do it?
Beautifully written, the feelings were so real, and Jane's thought's were hear-wrenching... Great fic! :)
| SpaceAnJL chapter 1 . 12/4/2010
I'm sorry it took me so long to find this. This...well, I'm in tears right now. Just real and hard and heart-breaking. A wonderful, tough piece of writing.
| Moultipass1 chapter 1 . 8/28/2010
Not fair! I hardly ever shed a tear over people dying in fanfictions, but I almost cried like a baby over this. Blame it on the horse rider in me.
Anyway, it's a beautiful story, I could feel every bit of pain Jane felt as he remembered buying the horse for his daughter.
The Jane/Lisbon interactions were great, it was funny and very in character how she thought he was going off to cause trouble.
Oh, and one last thing about this : "Flame." Jane glanced over and saw something bright flare briefly in her green eyes. "It's from the Black Stallion books," he added quickly, "which, of course, you already knew, having read the entire series at least…ah…" Jane paused an instant, studying her face carefully "…twelve times as a young girl."
I used to love those books :D. Walter Farley can probably be held responsible for me devouring books the way I still do :)
| tromana chapter 1 . 7/18/2010
Oh this was very touching - brought a tear to my eye even. Hey, don't blame me. I get very soft over pets dying. The emotions in that scene specifically were lovely.
| Maxiem chapter 1 . 6/21/2010
Very good story. It actually made me cry a bit, so sad. It kind of was like Jane got the goodbye he never had with his daughter. And I very much like stories where Lisbon and Jane are just friends. Very well done!
