This is the first Harry Potter fic I've read that actually did away with the magic, and made the entire thing AU and muggle. It's very interesting! Especially since I've recently become fond of pairing Tom and Hermione together. The plot seems very original too, which I appreciate :)

That's it. Everyone now needs to sign a petition to rename all "Wal-Marts" VoldeMart. Because that is just pure awesome. Seriously, that's what I'm going to call them from now on! :)

But anyway, I read your other story and loved it so much that I went digging for this one, and I wasn't disappointed! I just love your characterizations! (In both of them). I know I mentioned that in the other one, but they're just lovely.

I also love how in this one they almost have an easy-aquaintance type relationship right now. Well, we know that won't last. But it's still cute _

PLEASE update this story along with your other one! This one is such a unique idea as well, and it's so nice to see Hermione/Tom that's not another time travel fic (though there are some good ones).

Loved it! Of course. I love how well this world relates to the HP universe while still reflecting the economic turmoil of the real world. You're brilliant, but I'm sure you already knew that.

"This place is like a completely different world. Like a different time period or something." - HAHA. xD I love this; it's like even though you're not so much satirizing the HG/TR cliches, you've still got allusions like these.

Anyway...good chapter, a little too filler-y for my tastes, but I just really want to see more interaction between Hermione and Tom...you give them both such interesting characterizations under these equally interesting circumstances xD The dynamic presented with both of their essays was funny, though, and Tom's reaction equally so. I wonder how he'll take it when he finds out it was Hermione's work? xD

It was not disappointing. I have been checking back here every day to see if you had updated.

So the only thing I'm curious about is how you are going to advance Hermione and Tom's relationship. It's obvious that they are smart, very smart, and that will put them in the way of one another. The fact that she share opposing views on VoldeMart will prove to be an interesting plot device as well ,I'm sure, but I can't really see how you are going to make them become intimate.

Love the quip about the horrible taste in baby names, especially since Hermione's beloved Harry named his child Albus Severus, and she named her kid Hugo. I also misread Malfoy's name as "Celsius" instead of Celsus. Curse you, chemistry!

Harry and Ron make appearances! Yay! Rich Ron is so unfamiliar, but I missed Harry! It was nice to hear from them.

This Tom is eery. I think he's scarier than canon Tom just because he's more real, you know, what with the lack of magic and all. It's like you could meet him in real life. And you mentioned the lung cancer! Woot!

I absolutely love Tom in this chapter, especially in that last scene. Your characterization of him is great, especially mixed in with the modern element of the story. I never thought I'd see the day when Tom Riddle would be down for some coke and smokes.
