"Shit, Sam," Dean breathes, then puts a hand on his arm and gently— god, Dean could very happily never hear the noise Sam makes when he stands ever again— really fucking gently helps him out of the car and into the hospital.

The little detour you've made in this paragraph is one of the reasons I'm adding your fic to my Favs. The side trips into Dean's internal dialogue with himself (the above just one example) made this story even more interesting and well-written-I appreciated them very much. I admired how you kept the tension simmering throughout, never coming to full boil, but always on the verge. Very appropriate for S2 and Dean's state of mind at that time, and under these circumstances. Great tip of the hat, too (and reminder to those of us who might not have watched S2 recently), about that roadside chat in the mountains following John's death.

It always struck me in Show when one brother would thank the other. Despite all their years together. Despite the raised-like-warriors upbringing. Despite their lives. Just a quick, casual 'thanks,' seemingly spontaneous, for instance when one has handed something to the other. It hasn't happened often, but it's something that I've always wondered about. When your 'thanks' moment appeared, it was exactly like that-not burdened with deep, angsty meaning, just there. Very real, very canon. Loved how you played it. I might not have noticed it, though, if you hadn't maintained the tone and pace you did through all the material leading up to it. I really appreciated your style in this piece, and will look for more of your work.

I like it when authors fill in missing gasps from episodes and this was no exception! A little hospital scene with added banter. A highly entertaining fic.

Nice idea bringing up the visions and Dean's reaction to both Sam having no pain meds and finding out the docs thinks it was seizure. I really think that the show could have expanded more on Sam's visions.

Great ending too with Dean doodling rude things on Sam's cast then signing it with a smiley face! Lovely touch that really highlights the boys relationship so well.

AWW! Poor Sammy! Always wondered how that hospital trip went. And this is a very nice take on that. Perfect dialogue between the boys. Dean's inner monologue about John is heartbreaking, but definitely fitting. Very well done sweetie :D

Very nicely done. I love caring big brother Dean but still big brother enough to decorate Sam's cast in a way that'll totally mortify him. LOL

Loved Dean's thoughts while waiting on Sam in the lobby and Sam's bringing up the other times they've had casts. Great story.
