NOOOOO! *cries in a corner** why...
I read this fic years ago, so I knew it would happen but... WHY?!...
so well written and so very tragic. I applaud you.

You really amaze me...all your stories captured me in an instant and so of course this one did, too! I must admit that I had do kinda "force" myself to read some of the chapters (the ones without Link, of course) but I'm so glad I read it till the end...it was epic. Thank you for sharing :)

Yikes... The Sorrow is some nasty stuff, that's for sure...
I'm really impressed with your writing style so far.

I think, that rather than ruining everything, you would have just confused everyone with that last bit. After all, I was pretty surprised by the turn the story took halfway through, and I'm not sure how exactly one could have seen it coming. There were hints, yes, but I only grasped part of it before it happened anyways. I didn't quite like this one as much as your other stories, but that's not really a mark against this one so much as it is a plus for the others. If I were to put it into words, I'd say that this one didn't quite flow as well as the last two, and the turn - while clever - was disorientating (up until we got to the finish, really).
Anyways, good stuff.

Hm, interesting. I should probably not be spending so much time on your fic (er, I have other things to do, I swear!), but here I am. Enjoying it so far, I'd just like to say that, unless Hylians have a much shorter healthy lifespan than (humans? Gerudo?), a life as short as what you mention (~40) isn't likely - most of that old figure for average age is a result of high infant/child mortality, and once people in the middle ages and such got past a certain age, they'd usually live to their 50s, 60s, or beyond. A pet peeve of mine.
wiki ( wiki/Life_expectancy): "Medieval Britain" Average Age:"30" "At age 21, life expectancy an additional 43 years (total age 64)."

Oh my... Zelda doesn't remember... um hm. Interesting. Never expected this fic to be this dark :P which is great. I normally read romance (LOL)
A change is good for me :) Thanks for another amazing story :) I'm sure I'll enjoy it

Alright. I'm going to claim mixed feelings on this one, because in all honesty, it is a GOOD story. The plot flows, the writing is well done, and the chapters were overall an interesting read. But all of that aside, I'm going to say that the darker themes in this one seem... clumsy. A lot of the grimmer aspects of the story felt forced more than flowing, and sometimes the "dark" plot points felt like they were hammered in over the story instead of melding with it. Some of the characters did come off as a bit crooked, not based on their actions, but on their reactions to certain things, and honestly, something about the 'Sorrow' felt like it was pulled strait out of The Happening, which warped my perceptions on it entirely. That's just my take on it, though.
Like I said, it was a good read, and I have no regrets for the time I took reading it. The story was thought provoking and had a number of well played twists that I really did enjoy. Well done, and I've already started on your new story, which is shaping up to be bang up as well. Keep up the good work!

| Flabbergasted chapter 28 . 12/17/2010
Such an interesting story. It changed pace so many times. It felt like it was building to a climax early and then you killed the main character. Then it slowed down. Then it began to pick up again... but then you killed everybody else. Then it got really strange (funny how talking rock-things and fish-things don't come across to me as strange at all, but talking mushroom-things... well that's just so very odd). Then things came to a real climax and ended happily ever after.
As per usual, your characters were beautifully nuanced. Flawed but still admirable and always relatable. I was sort of hoping that Ben would have played a more important role in the shadowspace as his "knack for such things" was interesting, but it seemed apparent that you wanted the end game to revolve around the Stormstar and his anchor so I suppose by the time he was reintroduced there wasn't anything to keep him around for without making the story longer just for the sake of making it longer. Oh well.
