I love how you handled the romance scene. I can definitely see Jack finding it hard to cope with actual intimacy, considering her past and how sex was used against her a weapon so many times. I found that scene quite unrealistic and even a little creepy in the game, but you pulled the scene off nicely and actually made it sweet/realistic.

Great chapter! LOL. I can see the Council trying to demonize Shepard. Udina would probably try to take the opportunity to replace Anderson as Councilor... Anyway, this was very well-written, especially the scene at the end with Jack and Jack. Very tender. Thanks for writing this. God bless!

Aww. I really like this fic, y'know? I don't know what it is-I ain't a fan of first person, no way. Maybe 'cause your Shepard is realistic and not some Gary-stu.

But I actually enjoy reading this. No huge paragraphs, no incredibly detailed explanations over pointless things; just the story of these two. It's wonderful. C:

Good job! It's too bad there's so few Shepard/Jack fics on this site. I feel that the pairing offers more opportunities for complexity and character development than do other pairings. I like how you're dealing with the characters, Jack and Grunt are particularly well done. Shepard as a father figure to Grunt is an interesting idea. Lastly, I'm looking forward to more development between Kal'Reegar and Tali. Though a minor character, I like the way that you've written her so far.

Excellent story! Jack doesn't get nearly enough love, so it's lovely seeing a detailed romance fic such as this. I wish this sort of thing could have happened in game, it's a much more interesting alternative where Morinth is actually more powerful than Samara. Beautiful work on both your Shepard and his growing relationship with Jack, definitely the best Shepard x Jack fic here.
