I just read this story again, and again I'm blown away by how you write these characters, especially Kirk, Spock, and McCoy. Perfectly is how you write them, completely how I see them as well. Thanks for putting it into such lovely words.

Any well written story that centers on my favorite Captain (Shatner style) is welcome but this collection was doubly pleasing. Chapter Six had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Powerful stuff and I loved 'seeing' the story from other viewpoints, like Uhura and Chekov. Loved the protective crew and the Vulcan keeper of all things Kirk kept safe.
I'm a little late in doing so but I'm happy to put this one on the favorites list. Thanks for a great read.

Every. Single. Chapter of this is pure magic. I always forget how many of my favorite stories of yours are encapsulated in this one fic, and then I reread it and discover the magic all over again. I WOULD have reviewed every single chapter, but FFN doesn’t let someone comment more than once per chapter, so I’ll just do the best I can here.

Self-sacrifice is a powerful element, as are love and loyalty. You explore all these themes most satisfactorily here, using humor and pathos, hurt/comfort and whump and fluff. And I love it so much. Everything from McCoy and Spock rescuing him from the neural inhibitors right down to the entire crew running their ship ragged trying to get their captain to safety—it’s all absolute perfection. And that last chapter—I am simply in awe at your writing skills. You raise the stakes to immense heights, wind the reader up until they’re on the edge of their seat, twist our heartstrings around your keyboard—it’s masterful. Absolutely masterful.

Oh wow—I wasn’t going to review individual chapters this time through, but man—this chapter (the reading to Jim in a coma chapter) is one of my all-time favorites. So so so good alslfjakslsk! The FEELZ!

I loved this so much! The characters were all on point, and the mix of both fluff and angst was exactly what I needed! This was very sweet and I really enjoyed it, especially all the Kirk and Spock scenes. Overall, your writing style is awesome and this was so good!

I enjoyed this character study! Good job showing Kirk interact with his crew and highlighting his relationship with Spock.

I think I almost chewed a hole through my cheek reading through this one... God this was intense and it was a right mess at the same time... and a reminder why Kirk has always been my favorite Star Trek Captain ever.

I was kind of sitting on the edge of my chair for a moment when the crystals started failing.

I don't know what to say... this fic is so awesome, very well writing, the characters IC... I love how you describe the link between Jim and his crew, Bones and Spock. I love how you show Spock's human part with few words.
