| Karoline Dahl chapter 1 . 7/8/2013
Wow... That's pretty intense. Even when I watch my favourite childhood film, I can still never really convince myself that King Haggard is evil. He's just unhappy. And this story seems to paint a very plausible possibility as to how he became unhappy. I think by the end of the film, he's just been driven insane by the mystery of the Lady Amalthea and because he's certain of her true identity but can't prove it, he just has a hissy fit of frustrated rage when he destroys the clock. He's not warped or evil but unhappily confused about his what happened in his life and somehow it all make's sense when he's about to fall to his death and he screams "The last! I knew you were the last!" before he falls to his death. I think, possibly in his last moments, the mists of his confusion finally parted and he was happy that his suspicions were correct all along for an incredibly brief second before death kicked in.
Well done to whoever wrote this. Thumbs up and hat off to you! :-) X
