|Reviews for In Verse & Reverse|
| Hoosier Mama chapter 1 . 7/30/2010
Tres, tres cute.
I thought I was going to be picturing Dustin Hoffman pounding on the glass at the back of a church, but this was better...less mess to clean up since B's not the bride.

EXCELLENT! Thoroughly delightful reading. Superbly written! Have never read anything quite like it. No wonder you're one of my favorite authors:D Really ANGSTY too...the emotional undercurrent opened up this great literary piece and you expertly led us to the beginning of where it all started. GENIOUS!

I want to tell you how just how beautiful this story is. You've done an amazing job convincing us that there really can be love at first sight. I think writing the story in reverse was ingenious, but I do however want to apologize. I couldn't do it lol. After reading the epi and just the Sunday parts I had to start at the end just to know for sure it wasn't Bella that was getting married lol. That just shows you how wrapped up I was even after the first few sentences. Great job.

Hi! I really enjoyed reading this. I had so many questions in my head when I start it but soon I discovered that you did a great job, telling the story backwards. I mean, I felt surprised about how things where in reality, you know? For a moment I had this whole idea in my head and then I was just like: Wow, she is not the one getting married! - It was a totally "facepalm moment", and I'm not really good at reviewing but I just wanted to share that with you.
Anyway, Clever story, really sweet too! Thank you for sharing! :)

Wow girl. I am blown away. This is beautiful. I know this is a one-shot but I would love to see another chapter or two. What happens when they run away and then return?

After being blown away by Inception last night, I wasn’t prepared for the same thing to happen while reading this story - although I did have high expectations :)
I wish I had the eloquence to tell you exactly how much I love IV&R! Although it wasn’t a prompt, you wrote the perfect story for me as I absolutely love non-linear stories. Besides the killer twist, loved your beautiful and elegant writing, and your brilliant play with words, be it sly, witty or heartfelt.
And without wanting to give anything away, I enjoyed how as the story progresses, from her relationship with Edward to that of her family and Jake, it becomes easier to understand why Bella ran away with Edward - and how it turns from bittersweet to sweet. I love that right from the beginning and the end, it’s easy to see the rightness of their connection and that it transcends previous obligations and family expectations. I’d have said they had me at “hello” but they had me much earlier – and I liked that little echo of Twi.
Happy Birthday – Anya. And THANK YOU (sorry – shouty caps required!) - I have a feeling it’ll be very hard to top this first experience of contributing a few ideas and seeing them turned into magic.
As always with your stories, there are too many wonderful passages to list, but these are some of my favs:
The feel of his lips on her, of his fingers on her neck where her hair meets her skin, the ebbing and flowing rhythm of his body against hers as they breathe in heavily and touch, breast to chest, and breathe out with unbearable space between them.
But then his eyes continue past the groom and he sees her: Bella, dressed to the nines, looking like a ten, or in his eyes, a hundred.
But here she is—faking a smile, doling out happiness for everyone else, when she's still searching for her own inside.
She's the second child, the one that Renee got right. Bella is the firstborn, the test dummy, and she's crashed and failed by Renee's standards.
Their rapport is not like a debate where pulses are racing and adrenaline is high; they're like a puzzle, slowly putting pieces of themselves together through conversation, revealing the larger picture.
He knows everything about his normal life and feels nothing; he knows nothing about this girl with him and feels everything. Yes, he'll stop thinking and just feel.
