rose.chan27 chapter 8 . 10/27/2020 Omg. Laughing so hard right now. I mean, really. If I weren't laying down already, I would've been by the end of this chapter. |
meyou744 chapter 47 . 10/18/2020 I hope you update soon love this story |
Amy chapter 47 . 9/15/2020 Eric looks like 1990's model David Boals. |
bashfyl chapter 1 . 6/3/2020 Smart Sookie makes for awesome stories. Thanks for sharing |
Melikalilly chapter 47 . 5/12/2020 I love this story |
GlassMazeGazer chapter 47 . 4/25/2020 I really enjoyed what there was to this story & wish there was more to read. However, I will say, I found this unfinished story much, much more satisfying than at least 95% of all the SVM/TB stories I’ve read, or attempted to read, thus far and that’s a pretty big heap of fiction. It’s going on my very short list of favorites. At least it was left at a fairly pleasant place to drop off rather than a knotted up heap of angst or in the midst of some awful crisis. Thanks for as far as it got! |
GlassMazeGazer chapter 40 . 4/25/2020 Hmm. Chapter 40 and only 47 listed in the summary, last updated in 2013. Bummer. This has been one of the few stories I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. I love having a smarter (AND less bitchy) Sookie, the easy, bantering humor between the characters is refreshing, there’s been a mix of interpersonal interactions and active plot, no endless babbling, the first Gran character I’ve ever liked, and so much more that’s good. Not that it matters so many years later, but I would have enjoyed the story whether it stayed with a skeletal version of the original SVM events or it took completely new twists & turns. I know I’m heading for ‘unfinished story’ frustration in just a few chapters and it’s a shame to have to end this pleasant experience that way, but life happens & fanfics are often abandoned. At least this is one of them that I won’t end-up with regret for ever starting to read it. |
GlassMazeGazer chapter 30 . 4/25/2020 I’m enjoying the more ‘realistic’ interpretation of the relationships between Makers & their progeny. Of course, lots of stories go into the ‘sometimes sexual’ involvements, as well as the more aggressive controlling & abusive situations, but the stories that strike me as odd are the ones that do treat the relationships as parental. The way the relationships are being portrayed here are more reasonable, satisfying, & humorous. Things in the story have been going along so smoothly so far that all it took was that simple mention of QSA again in this chapter & I’m instantly anxious & wondering what’s going to suddenly pop-up to mess with my fun. Smart writing. |
GlassMazeGazer chapter 29 . 4/25/2020 Wow — what a relief to have a Sookie admit to/consider being part of the supernatural world AT ALL, much less even before anyone has definitively confirmed that she is and what she is. I do like reading a Sookie that’s not an idiot (& a whole lot of other nasty things)! Very refreshing. In Sookie’s place, I wouldn’t have chosen to have Jason there for the conversation. With him not having any of the ‘extra’ abilities that Sookie has, I’d have tackled getting Gran to talk first & worried about what parts, if any, Jason needed to know later. On a hopeful note, it occurred to me that since nothing bad or threatening has happened to Eric yet as a result of being with Sookie, perhaps her protective (secret) family member(s) approve of him. Either that or they’re just too distracted by the fairy conflicts to have noticed yet. |
GlassMazeGazer chapter 28 . 4/25/2020 "The uncle died from the sky, the parents by water." Oooooo — so nicely done I don’t personally have enough thumbs to give you an appropriately significant number of ‘thumbs-up’ for that line! Way to subtly layer the fairy complications! I think there’s an error in Sookie’s thinking process here (I’m assuming it’s Sookie ‘cuz she’s rattled, rather than the author, LOL!): ***“If Bartlett had died – no, been killed – before he'd molested Aunt Linda,*** then there really was no telling as to the motivation. But if he'd been killed after the fact, then his death could have been one motivated by revenge.“ Bartlett couldn’t have died or been killed before he molested Linda — he molested her therefore he was alive before he did it. |
GlassMazeGazer chapter 27 . 4/25/2020 “I looked at him with a finger held to my lips in the universal hushface gesture...” I’ve never seen nor heard “universal hushface gesture,” but it’s a perfect label. I’m liking the tone of the conversations between Godric & Sookie and then of Godric, Eric, & Sookie. Most Godric’s are written stiffly or like he’s a lofty, spiritual guru (well, except for the ones where he’s written as just the same sort of sex starved animal, ‘though shorter, as Eric). The playful, relaxed banter is a refreshing approach. |
GlassMazeGazer chapter 25 . 4/25/2020 HUH?! |
GlassMazeGazer chapter 7 . 4/24/2020 I’m suspecting Fintan had ‘something’ to do with Bartley’s ‘accidental’ death. |
GlassMazeGazer chapter 4 . 4/24/2020 Having Sookie ask Eric ‘how much longer before he turned into s pumpkin’ was cute. Interesting too that this Eric seems less of a shallow, hormonal frat boy type than the majority of writers make him. I’m hoping that holds to go along with the title promised ‘smarter a Sookie.’ |
RosettaRoseburn chapter 19 . 3/8/2020 I have an account under this name but I'm not logged in. I've liked your story so far but I wasn't gonna comment because I don't remember my password but I have to say something. How is Eric by use of Pam destroying Sookie's car at all attractive? Sookie says she worked hard for that car, she liked it, it belonged to her. Eric had no right to destroy it and by the tone of the story he doesn't even understand that what he did was wrong! I see this sort of thing in fiction-for some reason vampire fiction-a lot. A sexy, rich man likes a poor girl, at some point in the story he destroys her car or just takes it and replaces it with a new one without her permission. He says/thinks "What's there to like about it?" That's not for him to decide! It's Sookie's car and it doesn't matter if Eric doesn't like it or not, he should respect her and her decisions. |
