|Reviews for Eva|
| damigella chapter 6 . 2/1/2011
I really, seriously loved this story. I didnt find surprising the speed with which House and Eva bond: they're both people who have suffered and love Wilson, and House is smart and caring enough to tap his own emotions about the loss of his dad to connect with eva while filtering out the part which she wouldn't be able to share.
The only point I find a bit weak is that Eva doesn't seem a realistic eleven-year old. Niether my own eleven-year old daughter nor any of her friends would be caught dead dressed in pink. They're a preteens with the accent on teen: they dress in dark purple and acid green and lots of grey and black.
And there has been no eleventh birthday parties with 15 kids and a big cake with frosting. There have been pizza dinners and lunches (with parents observing from a nearby table) cinema trips to see Harry Potter together, and my own child has chosen a pajama party with as many of her best friends as can listen to Lady Gaga all night in the same bedroom without driving the neighbors insane :-). But then, maybe it's a cultural difference and you depict correctly US girls of age eleven.
Other than that, I really, really like it. I think House is not a good fit as father of a toddler, but for an older child, both of them would be awesome.
And I don't think you make Sam nicer than she is. Sam is a nasty bitch who would have let Wilson go through life without knowing he has a daughter if she could have. The point is rather that death changes everything, and hence also Wilson's reaction to Sam. He has to tolerate her touching his life again for such a brief time. And he knows it, since he's after all an oncologist. He sees her file and he knows how much pain expects her. Life is punishing her more than enough.

teehee. normally, the premise of this story would stop me from reading - immediately, might i add (i hate sam) - but you made this very good. a little short for my taste, but i never lost interest. i love it! :)

That was great. )
Wilson was near-perfect. You had him down to a T; he had the same personality as he did on the show. House was very good, too, although he seemed a bit too nice at times. Eva was adorable and very realistic.
Sam, though, seemed way too good of a person. On the show, she's a psycho bitch, but here she seemed like someone who Wilson actually belonged with. You wrote her the way the original writers should have written her in the first place. XD
I liked how you showed House and Wilson's relationship. It was cute, and I could tell how much they loved each other. Very convincing.
The plot was perfectly timed, with enough sadness to make it deep, but not depressing and melancholy.
I'd love to see a sequel to this. You did an absolutely amazing job.

Sooo sad! Hope Eva and the boys make it, please no gut wrenching "Eva hates Wilson but loves House" stuff, to predictable.

Beautifully written. Please don't leave to long before updating. Please don't let Sam get between the boys, they have waited too long to be happy!
