10 years... waiting... colour me sad - I was really enjoying it...

I like this story...

Notes - a thumb is a finger, thumb finger, index finger, middle finger, ring finger, and pinkie finger - I think canon says Peter was missing his right index finger, as he was left handed.
I think it should have been Peter's middle finger - then he would have been giving the world one last insult, and that was why Sirius was laughing.
But I never understood the whole, 'it's not canon' thing... no Fanfic is canon, I've saw stories where Harry married Bellatrix, and Fleur, and Tonks... Even Dark Lord Potter stories!

I respect authors that rewrite or redeem Ron. Unfortunately, he's in an easy position to bash. He also has enough good in him to easily fix - all he really needed even in canon was a motivation and drive.

But that's harder to write, so most bash him. Or the movies soiled their image of him to be worse than he was in canon.

I can read and enjoy bashing fics, but for Ron, I much prefer this.

This is a really fun story and concept. It is a little sad that it ends on a cliffhanger, but I really enjoyed Dobby changing things!

Love this story! I like the house elf culture and norms you are showing Dobby exhibit. I love how he questions human behavior against house elf norms. Thank you for writing. Of course I hope one day you will be back to finish, meanwhile I will appreciate all you have shared with us.

No problem about not bashing Ron. Too many authors seem to forget he is still a child.

Oh what a wonderful story! I am sad that you seemed to either have lost your mojo or muse, or life just got to busy. Perhaps someday, when life slows down (guess you weren't housebound during Covid) and you will come back when you get more ideas for this. i so want more!

Wish Harry had been old enough to understand and be able to put into words for the Headmaster that if you do not know the past, you cannot make proper choices for the future.

Messing with the Malfoy's bed/clothes would only get the other elves punished

what reason would or could Dobby have for interfering in Harry's love life
Why, little masters and mistresses to serve, of course.
A bachelor hardly makes any work for the elveses, after all.
And to see him happy.

I have a suggestion for an improvement: Have Dobby tell Hermione most books in the Malfoy library are stolen from people they killed, including muggleborns.
