The Tau'ri seem really arrogant, there. I mean, being pissed off against the Turians, Asari and Salarians is understandable, and that they strike the Tulians too. On the other hand, striking the Asari and Salarians, or threatening them, was rather stupid when they can defuse the situation. Like when they just treated the Tok'ra and Jaffas alike. And rather than "push forward", they should really listen to WHY the local races fear to map the Mass Relay network. They don't know what they could find, and they could also endanger the local races (but then, they -stupidly- went after the Goa'uld with primitive tech, and survived only thanks to luck, the Asgard and Alteran tech, so it's the same trend continuing there, after all). They perphaps have Asgard and Alteran tech, but clearly not Asgard wisdom.
(And I don't deny it, the Turians are stupid and arrogant too. But that's not a reason.)
(At least, the Reapers could unite the Terrans and the local races.)

So, basically a war broke out between goood guys after a misunderstanding, and because of itchy triggers.
| skarosianlifeform chapter 15 . 12/3/2013
Why the Tau'ri are rejecting the Tok'ra, now ? The Jaffa Nation I can understand, of course, but the Tok'ra had nothing to do, and have every interest to stop the Reapers, as much as us.
| skarosianlifeform chapter 14 . 12/3/2013
What about Teal'c and Bra'tac ? I doubt every Jaffa agrees with that. I mean, not only there are modernist Jaffas who agree with Teal'c (that the Jaffas need to be allied with Earth and move past the old ways), and even within the traditionalists, who don't like the Tau'ri much, I'm not sure all would like the Reapers more, or accept to attack other planets (especially Earth with their debt of honor) without provocation, or serve other masters. So, there HAVE to be a Jaffa Résistance, at least underground.
Also, I was totally surprised. I thought that the Reapers would be using somehow the Lucians, not the Jaffa.
Ironically, now the LUCIANS might be the ally of Earth against the Jaffas.
| skarosianlifeform chapter 11 . 12/3/2013
I didn't see that coming, yeah. At least, with the Wraith as allies, the Tau'ri have a fighting chance. Perhaps we now have Asgard tech (it will still take much time to really understand and recreate it on a massive scale), and Alteran tech with Atlantis (same thing), but we're essentially alone. I mean, it's not like the Travelers, Tok'ra, Jaffas, or even Lucians, can really be useful against the Reapers.
I precisely mused what would happen if the two AI races met, because of their respective history with the Ancients, not too dissimilar. I thought the Reapers would attack them, since they aren't organic but seek to emulate the organics (the Ancients even), but the Reapers are practical and won't pass up a reserve of soldiers and a workforce.
Though, I don't think every Asuran is happy to serve the Reapers. Niam and his friends wouldn't be. They weren't happy in the show when their brethren slaughtered humans to destroy the Wraith, and it was for a "good" cause (the end of the Wraith), but there, just serving another race hell-bent of conquering the galactic cluster, and exterminating or enslaving everyone, it's even worse.
| skarosianlifeform chapter 9 . 12/3/2013
It's incredibly risky for the Tau'ri to explore Pegasus now, while they KNOW about the Wraith. They just can't fight another enemy with the Lucians there, and the Reapers coming.
Perhaps the other ME races are in Pegasus, though ? (Even if the Wraith are -presumably- there).

Weir takes a very risky gamble, but her logic is sound.
I don't know much about Mass Effect (just the basics on Wikipedia) but I already love that fanfic.

An interesting idea - nice to see Earth kicking ass for a change! Shame to see you appear to have abandoned this.

| jabbarulez chapter 18 . 7/27/2013
I never liked turians cause they remind me of a former friends who loved to push button and then wondered why he was on the ground with a bloody nose. Ah fun times...

Tok'ra as allies."

| Random person chapter 18 . 6/19/2013
their just a few small problems:
1. It's the Turian Hierarchy, not hegemony.
2. How those the council even THINK of carriers and destroyers? Those were human ideas, and that before first contact, the citadel thought dreadnoughts were superior.
Otherwise, great story keep up the good work
