Fantastic. I loved the flashback and in my opnion you got the timing perfect. Now lets see what Derek does. I so hope Chloe doesn't take him instanly back after de says/does one nice thing. The trust between them has to slowly rebuild somehow. Can't wait for chapter 9 :)

awesome chapter. Was that derek's experiment thing a kelley armstrong idea? I can't remember but it seemed familair. If it isn't thats an awesome idea. Loved it anyway.

you know what? surprisingly i can kind of see Derek going mad scientist! O.o? lol. still... I seriously cannot express enough how much I absolutely love this plot. Him turning into the mad scientist was seriously the greatest, most brilliant twist I only wish I could have thought of. Especially since it completely makes sense that that would be how he gets messed up from the whole situation. I swear, there aren't words to express how much I love this. Please, please, PLEASE, update as soon as you can.

That was a crazy heart breaking chapter, and you should be proud to know I actually had a few tears in my eyes from the emotional strain that Chloe went through. You wrote it beautifully. Anyway, thanks for updating and I can't wait to see the next chapter.

I'm so happy you finally updated! Amazing chapter! And even though, it was so unlike Derek in the flashbacks- I can understand how he got that way. I just hope he goes back to the old Derek soon! Can't wait for the next chapter!

I'm not gonna lie to you. I'm not sure if I want to hit you or hug you. And believe me, I know that sounds really mean, but it's actually a compliment because sappy romance is never quite as good as the slightly (or in this case a bit more so) depressing stuff.

When I saw you had posted, my heart started palpitating in anticipation. I knew this was going to be an important chapter, a turning point, as you has said, and I needed to take a moment to prepare myself. And WOW. I felt this chapter was really raw; everything was ripped away and we were left with the truth, the cold, hard truth. It was great. Heartbreaking, but necessary. For me, the saddest part was a tie between the flashback and when Chloe asked if Mila liked the perfume. I don't think it was OOC for Derek at all; like you said, it was a gradual change over time and we all know how compulsive Derek is-always wanting to plan and to prepare so as to know everything and not be taken by surprise. Again, I'll say it one more time: Can Mila get run over by a truck or something? Can you switch POV's for a paragraph and show Derek telling her how annoying and needy and whiny and skanky she truly is? I would so support that :p Great chapter, and I really hope you can post this weekend :) And maybe give us a nice, fluffy flashback to compensate for the heartbreak we had to read about? :p

This was so sad! Why do I get the feeling their was something Chloe didn't know about why Derek was doing the experiments, I wish she'd given him a chance to reply but at least she's got what SHE neededto say off her chest now Derek needs his say, to get his side out. He also needs to dump Mila and get back with Chloe. I'm kinda pissed at Simon for going with Chloe and not staying to talk to Derek, also I think Tori knew what Derek was doing if she was lying to Kit about where he was, is she in on it too? Please let Derek find Chloe next chapter and make things right, Simon was right before, Chloe and Derek fighting is like seeing your parents or grandparents fighting, it's just wrong on so many levels and makes you feel so bad cause you just want them to fix things! Damn!You know you're a good writer when you can inspire that much emotion with a story! Update soon!
