I loved this story, not just the chapter. I always enjoy reading "what if" stories, and seeing how the world subtly twists. I believe that you developed the characters and plot in reasonable ways, and therefore enjoyed your story greatly.

Somehow, the words 'Slughorn' and 'walrus' just stick in my head...

Brilliant ending.

They're a proud, rigid bunch who don't react well to implications of inbreeding, low intelligence and L'oreal.

-Falls over giggling; Snape's tongue, it slices, it dices!

But then, Severus is used to hopeless last stands; he's only amazed when James and Sirius try to help.

Why the heck didn't the rescue party fly in on brooms? They would have gone much faster.

Oh I really hope this happened in canon. I really seriously hopely madly truly hated that Severus was so alone in every sense possible. I'm just glad that the these four became friends! I sincerely hated Pettigrew! And I really want to know what happens after they graduate. What kind of jobs they would have. Well, James and Sirus would become Aurors, Remus... well maybe he could become an Auror as well or a professor with the help of Severus invension of the Wolfsbane, and Severus maybe a healer and of course a potions master, and they fight the Dark Gits! Such potential of a wonderful story with the four being so great friends! I really hate it when I have to really wish for James/Sirius bashing and also Dumbledore and and earthquake level of shaking of Remus. AND I HATE LILY in this story. She just isn't a friend material here. Wish there was a part of Lily bashing in the story. But well just wishful thinking. Lovely wonderful story.

And of course none of the staff notice or care. After all, it's only Snivellus.

I've just noticed. Lily doesn't exist in this universe (that would be the one thing that would keep Severus and James from ever being friends).

Love this chapter. Being an owl truly suits Severus. Hmm...owls like to hunt mice, right? What about a rat?

But seriously, there does need to be a solution to Peter's curiosity (I bet he's surprised not to be invited on full moon nights any more). Yet there is one distraction that hasn't been mentioned yet-

What if Peter falls in love? Everyone would expect him to not being around the Marauders that much after that, especially if his fellow Gryffindors bug him about it lot.

And perhaps James can help find a solution for Snape not having to joing the Death Eaters. His dad is influential-what if Snape is offered an apprenticeship out of the country as soon as he graduates?

But the full moon bit with Remus and his Pack is brilliant.

He'd never endanger the students like that.

-Of course {sarcasm}. Dear old Dumbles just turns the other way when horrible stuff happens.

This is a good chapter, though. This AU would actually be possible if James wasn't in love with Lily (though you have to wonder how much was love and how much was a longing to take anything Snape had away from him). And if Remus had a backbone.

I hope Snape can become an Animagus _and_ keep Lucius Malfoy out of his hair.
