| jcampbellohten chapter 29 . 2/28
I thought Aizen's explanation of the Hougyoku as a sentient wish-granter was an ass-pull, but I didn't think it had holes in it. Orihime's power came out of her desiring with all her heart to be able to protect her friends, and the Hougyoku was around her for presumably months. Chad's power had an independent origin, namely Fullbring, and got stronger through training and battle; the Hougyoku may or may not have helped it along. Ishida was already a Quincy, and a prodigy at that, so his growth isn't remarkable. Ichigo is just frickin Ichigo; he was absurdly spiritually strong to begin with, before he ever contacted a Hougyoku, and that combined with his hybridity accounts for his great strength in my opinion.
Haha "the five special war powers" reimagined. For a second I was like, "since when was Kenpachi with them?"

After about 5 almost-revelations in one chapter, it's nice to finally have someone complete their sentence, even if it's a cliffhanger. The gambit pile-up is getting pretty high at this point, but it's almost the end. Aside from that, I find it amusingly ironic that you made Aizen half-Quincy and Ichigo just have royal fiat over all powers when in canon Ichigo is half-Quincy.
I like how you created an alternate scenario that fit in a bunch of little things from canon and found alternate explanations for some stuff without them sounding like ass-pull ret-cons like they do in Bleach. In general I like this story, except for the Ichigo/Aizen relationship. (On that note, I just thought of something: even if he's a teenager, why would Ichigo have to deal with "rampaging hormones" in his soul form?)
In the fight against UraharaYoruichi, it mentions Yoruichi having a sword (which she's never been shown to have) and Aizen using a Cero (which he couldn't do in canon and I don't recall him being revealed to be able to do here).
| Dark Starlight Nekomata chapter 32 . 2/16
I can't believe I've never read this story until only recently. All the emotions, and those twists and turns... Well, I won't deny that they've gotten a lot of emotional reactions out of me. It's been a gratifying experience to take the time to read this masterpiece of fiction. Everything about it has exactly what I look for in a story. Plot, character development, and the ability to show and instigate deep feelings on people with simple words. Emotions are very important to me, and this story has only emphasized the fact. It's this kind of thing that inspires me to write in the first place. Just as I am grateful for reading this, I am also grateful for you to take up your time and use it to create this, then post it for everyone to read, even if it's already been a few years.
Okay, so now that I said all I wanted said, may I ask one question? Considering that Ichigo is a Vizard, why has he not used his Hollow powers/Inner Hollow? I've taken into account that maybe Ichigo's losing his powers in the first chapter has something to do with that, but I'm afraid I still don't get it. And if it was mentioned in an Author's Note, I apologize. I wasn't really paying attention. I normally read A/N's in stories, but nowadays, I seem to be skipping them a lot due to my impatience or me being in a rush.
