So... I was thinking... Is there a possibility of you ever writing some kind of sequel... Like for whatever reason Glee club Shue reunite (purposefully or not) 10 or 15 years later and Kurt has been on Broadway, has won Tony and whatever, the other are successful in their field and Rachel ( if she ever made out of Lima) never got the same recognition as Kurt because he is better. And Shue notices that the accomplishments of the Glee had nothing to do with him and if they had been left with just him they certainly wouldn't be were they are now... If you know or write something like that, please let me know...

I just found this and I have to say I love it. I wish everyone had walked out on Will in season 3 and Will would have been left with Rachel and Finn, and maybe Rory because he wouldn't know any better...

And the father of the year award goes to Burt Hummel! Dear GaGa I wish something like this would acually happen on the show! Me and my friends don't even say we watch Glee anymore, we call it the rachel berry show. Hmmm but if it was the Kurt Hummel show...

Love the conversation between sue and Burt. I'm glad you addressed shue's favoritism. I never really understood it. And his fascination with Finn (who has a mediocre voice) is a bit creepy. Great story.

I really have to applaud you for writing this. I'm serious! Thank you for writing a piece of fiction that confronts the truer realities of "Glee" that most people are afraid of writing about! I positively love that you had Burt Hummel be the one person to confront the issue at hand. It was very sweet to see him defend his son (I now officially want my future husband, when I find him, to be willing to torch my kid's school if something bad were to ever happen there. That was so epic!) and the other members of the Glee club. You really showed his perception and again, for that I must applaud you.
I do love the show, and I'll admit that Rachel does have one of the strongest voices of the Glee club, but I have always tired of she and Finn getting every single solo for every big competition and even during class time. It gets grating hearing the same people sing over and over again when there's a lot more talent in the Glee club as well. Though the Finn/Rachel dynamic of the issue is obvious, you did a great job in brining it to light and of showing that no, they aren't the only two people carrying the Glee club and keeping it from falling apart. That is a crock of crap. However, you really did a number by brining in Mr. Schuester's immaturity concerning that matter. Here, you've proven that Mr. Schuester, though he is a gifted educator in some aspects, is extremely flawed and prone to play favorites among his students. The fact that he (almost) always makes Finn and Rachel the stars of Glee club and only helps them with their problems and not the other students, is a huge indicator of that. The fact that you brought out his weaknesses is work well done, especially when he tries to defend himself and rationalize the decisions he makes as a teacher. It was just so fantastic to see Burt defending Kurt and the other Glee kids, and to see him speaking the truth while Mr. Schuester just didn't know what to do about it.
What Burt said about the other kids so true! They're all immensely talented and have strong voices, but they never do have the opportunity to shine. You were definitely right when you said that if Rachel ever made it to Broadway, that she would be fired (almost) instantly because of her need to have the spotlight to herself and inability to work with other people. To be fair, I do think this problem is being fixed somewhat through the Season Two episode "Special Education" where Finn and Rachel didn't have solos for Sectionals and where Mr. Schuester realized that he wasn't giving the other Glee students the opportunity to shine, but it'll still be a long time before Rachel will learn how to be a successful team player. She does have a lot of growing up to do. It was nice to see Mr. Schuester brought to that reality, though since he often has the tendency to place Rachel on a pedestal.
I also loved Sue's appearance. Here, you've added more to the fact that she does have a heart and does care about the Glee kids (I loved her soft spot for Kurt and Mercedes) to a degree. It was the perfect ironic twist how she even knows that the other Glee kids need to shine - a concept that Mr. Schuester has yet to grasp. It was a fantastic way to usher in the ending, with all the Glee kids, save for Finn and Rachel, walking out on Mr. Schuester. It would've been interesting to see him come to the epiphany the hard way that Finn and Rachel aren't the only students who carry the Glee club and make it what it is.
Sorry this review is so long, but I really did like this story. It was very thought provoking and allowed for me to dissect many of the characters that appeared in it. Hopefully, Mr. Schuester will continue to realize, like he did in "Special Education" that the other students need opportunities to shine as well. It'd be nice to see Kurt and Mercedes finally get their solos at Regionals, and maybe even for Artie and Tina to have a chance in the spotlight as well. Again, thank you for writing this amazing oneshot! :)
