| The-mighty-rhodes chapter 1 . 7/6/2011
This is pretty interesting and it’s quite powerful. It’s up to you if you continue it, and I hope you do, but it’s a solid piece and works as a one shot. The layout is good, the two different perspectives of Roy is well done and as a fic this is well written I hope you continue this
| Pikachu127 chapter 1 . 11/30/2010
It's been a long time. How have you been?
Why do I skim fics? I skim them to see if they're worth reading. You've made it. I'm reading your genius as I type this review out.
(Dot dot Dot)
Hmm. Seems like some sort of sequel to Cheers. Am I correct? Very well done (as always). I'd love to see this continue.
| lupyne chapter 1 . 9/25/2010
You have used repetition to great effect in this story, from Roy's obsession with white to how comfortable the cushions were. And the contrast you displayed with parantheses about how the cushions were restraining and yet comfortable - that was very nice.
The ending was a powerful one, with a twist that was both expected and unexpected, in a way. It certainly explained Roy's character, in any case.
Regardless of whether you decide to continue this story or leave it as is, this is a solid piece of work. Of course, if you continue, this means that we'll get to see more of your work, which is always a good thing. It'll be interesting to see where you take this.
If you do not continue, however, then I must say the way you ended it is extremely chilling and powerful, what with the door opening and all.
Well done once again, Hawk!

| Foxpilot chapter 1 . 9/23/2010
Guhwhoa. That's...pretty incredible.
Roy...the man hosting the party...the man in the cell...two different people that are in fact one. And he doesn't know the difference between them.
Definitely well-done. Definitely. I do wonder at a few of your word choices, like "half-constipated," but the detail was meticulous and extravagant. Wow.
But my question is, has the story ended, or is this just getting started?
| doggiefan chapter 1 . 9/23/2010
Dark, with a twinge of insanity.
*nods head in approval* Doggiefan like. Doggiefan like.
The plot is both ingaging and confusing at the same time. Please keep it up.
But is this a oneshot? If not I'm SO faving this.
| Met Guard chapter 1 . 9/23/2010
What a start! Roy, from his perspective, is a lot more than he seems, or so he thinks about himself.
From the outside, one could wonder, how did Roy manage to get himself in this condition? Surely just being disbelieved can't be the only reason why he was... locked up.
The king motif starts right off the bat, with the title. Crown? I'm not knowledgeable about the Fire Emblem games, if that has anything to do with it. 'King' Roy, Roy referred himself. Hm...
Something ominous is going to happen. And I'll be eagerly awaiting for it. That doesn't make me morbid, does it?
| Shadsie chapter 1 . 9/23/2010
Intriguing. Unfortunately, I've not played any of the Fire Emblem games, so I do not know Roy that well - just from Melee, so I can tell you nothing about whether he was in-character or not.
A couple of nitpicks: They were drinking tea - then they spilled their cups of coffee? Honest mistake, could use fixing. Young Link put the "kettle" to his lips when I think you meant cup (a tea kettle is what you boil the water in, the pot is where you brew the tea and where you serve it from, and cups are cups - I'm a fiend for tea).
I was a little confused regarding Roy's graying/white hair - that applies age, while Young Link was still young (hadn't "grown into Link" as it were). Pichu was alright because Pokemon don't age normally - they have to level up and "evolve." Then... the end pretty much explains it all - it's all Roy's perceptions, anyway.
A nice transition from the "normal" setting to revealing Roy's madness with trailing patterns and letters. I also love the line about "steel concealed in velvet" to describe his words to Master Hand.
... Hmmm. Psychaitrists and pscyhologists - they don't often carry stethescopes - those are more for physicians... unless, of course, the psych-doc needs to check vital signs/physical healh - again, more of a physician thing. I have... some experience... with people in the psychiatric field - including a good online friend who's studying it, and stuff you could ask me about if you really need to know and are brave.
