|Reviews for Knowing Normal's Hard to Fake|
| The Layman chapter 6 . 12/27/2010
Dark Side Cookies...I have the strange feeling that's suppose to mean something...And you're right; whatever that Star Trek: TNG referance was, I didn't get it. (And I've seen all seven seasons, AND all four movies! Though I've only read about a dozen or so of the serial novels...)
Anyways, I had a thought; what would a conversation between HK-47 and an Elcor from Mass Effect be like? (ME2 is frggin awesome by the way!)
| Lion in the Land chapter 6 . 12/23/2010
Nice to have the team back together…with the entertaining addition of HK 47 “a marvel of superior design and function.”
I was laughing so hard at HK going after that scanning machine with such wrath! I understand him completely. As a matter of fact, I’ve got a CD player I’d like to set him loose on. Maybe a kitchen counter too if it’s not careful. Door, anyone? ;P
“Offended reply: … but if you prick us do we not... leak?” I know you keep saying that this is just how HK 47 talks, but even still - YOU are the one writing the lines for this story, and you’re doing a great job of it.
You also did a nice job of creating sympathy for the Dandy Man. I really felt for Seras when she had to finish him off.
I’ve not got a chance at the obscure reference…wait a minute, did you mean “Star *Trek*: TNG”? If so, I’ll be wanting a point for that catch since I don’t even watch that show. And also one for “Poppet” PotC.
"Dark Side Cookies!" – O_o?
It’s difficult to get a read on Alucard. He obviously operates according to his own, personal moral code. At times he seems slimy, like erasing Heinkel’s memory and then lying about it, but then he agrees to Seras’s plan to save the students…but only so he can kill something. Or so he says. Anyhow, you're writing him wonderfully as a mysterious character with many levels, and I don't blame poor Seras for being confused.
Lastly, I got a kick out of Seras having to “consciously remind herself not to skip.” Too cute.
Thanks for updating before the Christmas rush hits hard. It was nice to get to read it in a moment of down time. Have a blessed and merry Christmas.

First, I owe you an apology for not reviewing the previous chapter. That was pretty devious of the Dandy Man to carefully screw over Seras like that. It almost did seem like he'd let her go, but alas, he is a Sith. So I figured there had to be a catch. :P
Also, you obviously introduced Rip Van Winkle in the last chapter too, but there's no mention of her now, what gives?
Also, hooray! HK-47 is back in the saddle, and with Seras as her master! You just can't keep a good evil droid down. His dialogue is just as deliciously smarmy as ever, especially about being "naked." Though at the risk of sounding like Douchey McNitpick, you got his manner of speech slightly off. 47 doesn't use the adjectival qualifiers for his lines of choice (e.g. "Smug Statment: Blah blah blah") only the HK-50s do that. HK-47 keeps it simple with merely "Statement/Query/Encouragement/Mockery." It seems sometimes like I'm the only person who notices that, so don't feel bad. _'
Can't wait to see where Team Hellsing and Heinkel go next in their little adventure now. Keep up the good work! :D

| SakuU21 chapter 5 . 12/7/2010
Well that's a twist. I honestly didn't expect HK-47 to make an appearance. O_o Reading your stories made me feel nostalgic, so i decided to play KOTOR again. Just recently, I got HK-47. Anywho, this chapter is great and I can hardly wait to read the next one.
| The Layman chapter 5 . 12/4/2010
Planet of the Apes (LOVE THAT MOVIE!), and a Threepio line (from Episode One).
You know, HK-47 alone almost wants to make me go out and play those games. Too bad my Xbox360 does have backwards compatibility...
| Haissan chapter 5 . 12/3/2010
nice work with the sexual references very slipped in...how much longer before you're ready to write a story for publishing? You could easily change the characters and some of the content in knowing normal's hard to fake to become something like a story for the franchise although it could probably fall through and you would get offered a ghostwriter position which carries little credit.
| graypheonix chapter 5 . 12/3/2010
One thought comes to mind, timeline-wise, is this post KotOR? or is it in the new MMO universe? For that matter, is this part of some new bull planning, or more of hilarious Alucard and HK47 play off each other? Though seeing those two argue would be fun...in any case, continue to update, as this is fun. Though, when is the next chapter in the ghost/MGS/Timetravel story coming out? An eternal question for us all. Continue to update, ja ne.

A on the chapter! And now I have to Favorite. I have to - you made me LoL so much! The whole interaction between Seras and HK47 was stellar. From his first "Annoyed Exclamation” on I pretty much didn’t stop laughing. :D
Which is not to say I didn’t enjoy the earlier parts too. You start us off with nice insight into Heinkel’s mind as she made her way through the maze, and excellent descriptions:
“their almost eerie green glow beckoning her deeper into the belly of the beast”
“To the eyes this luminescent gold seemed to simply hang, eternally suspended against a starless night”
And then some delightful back and forth between Alucard and Heinkel. I love how she refuses to give the Sith an inch: "A little ostentatious for a door." And I’m also happy to see that he recognized her “fire” and said it would be a “waste” to kill her.
Even before HK47 reanimated, the scene was enjoyable. “She felt like hugging the old piece of metal.” – that was just so cute. "Sith's blood! Why can't anything ever go smooth?" Hehehe ;) And I do believe I detected a bit of a Burn Notice influence in Seras’s MacGyvering of the droid.
But even still, my absolute favorite part of this overall great chapter was w/ Seras and HK. Hilarious running joke with his Accusatory Query. "What? No. Ewwwww!" And you took it all the way to the end! Such perfect, cute (& naughty) ending lines by both of them.
This totally CMU: "Query: Stop calling you what, Meatbag?" Hahahaha! :D
Also, clever word play w/ the “Proposed offer.”
Something you’re doing a very nice job with throughout this story (that I don’t know if I’ve commented on yet) is tying the Hellsing parallels into the Star Wars universe. Like: “So, the pudgy one has begun manufacturing his fakers again, has he?” Its familiar stuff but with that special Metro twist that makes it fresh.
| Deritine chapter 4 . 11/22/2010
What interesting opponents. I'm not sure if you stole them from somewhere (in which case, good representation) or made them up (in which case- mad skillz in the character development part). Though I did have to look back to remember what children were in danger. Heh. Who needs plot when you have bad-ass fight scenes? Sylvester Stalone pretty well proved you don't in that movie Expendables. Good stuff.
| The Layman chapter 4 . 11/20/2010
There's a "Princess Bride" line (BEST MOVIE EVER!), the first scene with Alucard thrashing the droids sounds like it was using the battle mechanics the "The Force Unleashed" (cult gem), and I think Barbosa is sueing over that betrayal by Card Guy. So, did I find them all?
And yes, this chapter WAS as good as the last one.
| Lion in the Land chapter 4 . 11/19/2010
Holy Cow. You really must hate that text book. The PHB of textbooks. ;)
Once again you did a nice job placing us in the scene with your description of the “more refined” cavern. And you add such nice detail in just the right places. Like the “flash of bronze” and the “familiar hum” of Seras’s lightsaber. Cute bit with the “Nice.”
I KNEW Seras was making a bad deal! Poor, naïve, trusting Seras. This whole gambling scene didn’t happen to be influenced by a 40 hour week of Fallout: New Vegas, did it? But tell me about this Pazaak game, I forgot to ask before – is it a real game? Or something from Star Wars? The two decks and negative cards were very intricate, so I’m guessing there are actual rules somewhere.
The card game was fun though. It got very intense. "Can you smell that? That is the scent of fate, of destiny!" "O-k-a-y," Seras replied slowly. Were all Sith possessed of some singular obsession? – Haha! I see Heinkel’s rubbed off on her a smidge.
It also CMU after Dandy gave her the information and then told her: “So you see, I really have no choice but to kill you. Dreadfully sorry, Madam." That’s a reference. I know it, just can’t place it…Princess Bride? The ensuing card fight was fun too.
The chapter ending was perfecto: It was another 'push'.
Also, you left us off with lots of intrigue. Who told Dandy man about her potential? And what’s going to happen between Alucard and Rip? How's Seras going to get out of her predicament? Also, I look forward to more Heinkel.
I’ve given one of my reference guesses, and I’ve got one more (besides our usual ;)) – Nerf herder has to be Firefly, right?
As you can see, this chapter kept me plenty entertained. Thanks!
| SakuU21 chapter 4 . 11/19/2010
This chapter reminds me of when I played KOTOR II. Though to be honest, I didn't like KOTOR II as much as KOTOR I. Anywho, over all this was a great chapter. Can't wait for the next update.
| SakuU21 chapter 3 . 11/4/2010
HEY METROPOLIS KID. I JUST MADE AN ACCOUNT!. ANYWHO, YOU KNOW I HAVE TO ASK, WILL THIS ONE CONTINUE TO BE AN ALUCARDxSERAS STORY? SORRY TO ANNOY YOU LIKE THIS BUT I JUST LOVE MY ALUCARDxSERAS STORIES. ANYWHO, THESE THREE CHAPTERS HAVE BEEN WELL WRITTEN AND I LOOK FORWARD TO THE NEXT UPDATE.
| Crow T R0bot chapter 3 . 11/3/2010
So, Alucard is taking a trip down Memory Lane, is he? I *wonder* what that could mean? Not that he'll let Seras in on it.
And Heinkel is a Jedi this time? Not even one of those psycho Gray Jedi, but the real thing? It makes her objections to Seras'...*ahem*...fall more understandable. I'd be pretty skeptical in her position too. Seras has some sound reasoning though, I'll admit, but if she shares her observations with Heinkel she should probably avoide mentioning Alucard's master is a Mandalorian. :P
Now they're splitting up. Guys, seriously, I can understand your desire to save time to save t3h younglings, but it's not Scooby-Doo. Splitting up is BAAAAAAD news...
...and if my understanding of the timing is right, I suppose Master Dandy Man is running the show at the Trayus Academy? Can you say Attack of the Killer Pazaak Deck? XD
