Thanks for posting a story about 1984 and not some random crap.
'Threw' should be 'though'. 'Cowered' should be 'coward'.
I personally doubt that Winston would overthrow the government just like that, but oh well.

I believe you could use a bit more detail in the area between his escape from the cell and the fall of big brother.

Hi. I really enjoyed reading this story; 1984 is my favorite book and I love to see how other people interpret it!
Personally, I think the beauty of the story (well... beauty's probably not the right word - maybe horrifying fascination is what I mean) is in the ending that you found "was something to be desired for." I think that a society like that of Oceania makes a rebellion like what you wrote impossible. People are so brainwashed that they wouldn't jump to defend Winston's cause, even though they may have deep-seated hatred for the Party. Their own hatred and fear bind them and effectively prevent any chance of escape. But this is just my opinion, please don't take me too seriously. Even though your interpretation didn't mesh with my headcannon, I found your sense of ecapism inspiring. Maybe it's too easy to be bogged down by the depression of 1984, and your story was of the sort we need to keep ourselves from becoming the same.
However (and I'm sorry that I'm the pedantic freak who's pointing this out), I think people would be better able to enjoy your story if you passed it through a spell-checker or beta reader again. For instance, you want "through," not "threw." But these are minor fixes, just things that I noticed.
You know the thing that I liked best about this story? Your final sentence perfectly summed up the spirit of your story and what Orwell originally wanted to convey, at least to me. It's a powerful reference that pulls together the powerful ideas they you wrote about. It's beautiful.
I'm sorry to have such a long review here (and please understand that it's all just my opinion) but I hope that at least some of this was helpful to you, and that you continue writing more! Anyways... um, thanks!

I liked this, not many people write fan fics on the classics, 1984 is one of my faves. Loved it xxx Lesley
