I read the sentence, "Still, he'd been trained and recommended by Kuzon, the former Grand Lotus," and for a couple second I was just thinking, "When did that happen?" and then I remembered the old man from the last chapter, and my mind was blown.

Fantastic. Zuko in canon was wily at need, so responding as he did to the murder plot Ozai was hatching with, of all people, his daughter, isn't that hard to imagine. After all, I can't imagine child Zuko attacking Ozai even if it wouldn't have been suicide.
Seeing how the war affected ordinary people could have drawn him to the White Lotus, so that also fit like a puzzle piece to create a picture that, with his reunion with Iroh, was wellnigh perfect. (It stopped too soon!)

This fic is SO SWEET! A lovely AU with an ending that made my heart sing :)
