I think that the reporters can't just see the "scoop material" inside the walls of the Planet.
Which is strange, if you think how many times it was attacked by the villain of the week...

Thats because reporters are selfish egotistical bastards- no matter how badly they try to convince one otherwise.

I would know- a truck drives into a house in a 'grungy' neighborhood with a 9 year old, my moms boyfriends 3 year old granddaughter and 2 year old grandson no one bats a eye despite the 15 people gathered outside.

A car drives into an empty home belonging to a real estate company and gets coverage for weeks despite the fact no one cares.

Note that I was that 9 year old.
