There IS a reason if the reporters don't know: Clark is, in spite of everything, a good actor, as good as Christopher Reese or Brandon Routh, and most people doesn't even think Superman has a secret identity. Bet he got so sure about his secret identity he started getting negligent on that until Batman told him that Perry White also knows but never verified for his own reasons...

You should expand on this, a bunch of folks all over the city,

knowing the secret ID, but trying to figure out why he does it.

Ha. Genius. You culd do a little confrontation/sappy thank you scene where Clark is told about the elevator problems he's causing, and learns he's got help hiding his identity. I actually did wonder about how smart is was tossing his clothes in an elevator shaft like that, and how do they end up clean when he gets back?
