I'm a bit late to this party, but I'm really enjoying this story and desperately hoping you haven't forgotten it. It's really heavy, but familiar to me (in a slightly removed and very abstract sense) and cute in a highly atypical way.
There's a bit that struck me later on after continuing past the scene where Harry first asks McGonagall about Sirius. The reference to blood being thicker than water is very fitting here on multiple levels.
The phrase is only ever incomplete anymore, and so it's used incorrectly. The full phrase is "the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb." I don't know what you know, but this use was quite apt for the context of the story. Harry functions under the values of the original meaning, while McGonagall only really seems to understand the current use. Harry cutting short the line of discussion makes it very clear.
I don't know if this was intentional, but I really appreciated seeing the contrast presented in such a way.

Questions - what is the significance of the last number on Harry's wrist? Was that just the number of kids he had branded at that time? Will he ever really, deeply trust a deserving adult? Is Harry the Savior and not Lacius? I was wondering because you , in an author note, said that Lacius was the proclaimed hero, and I didn't know how to interpret that.
What is Harry's knife in the abdomen pain - and when did it happen and why? I know it was a gang type thing, but at what age? Does the pain he has have anything to do with where his magical core is? Why does it pain him when around ultimate evil?
Was he hit with the killing curse? Does he have also Soul Leach? Does Lacius? Will Harry get better and have a good life? Does his family have a Wizengamot seat? Does your universe have Lordships? Just wanting something to hang over Malfoy's head...
I know real' life can really take away from the really important work of fanfic writing...
I hope that you can continue on with this story, even though it has been nearly ten months.

I wondered about Harry and not having a scar. Your description said that Lacius was proclaimed the hero, but you didn't say he WAS the hero of that night. So Harry's scar is on his abdomen? Does that mean he has the Soul Leach?

Another - let's see how much we can dump on poor Harry fic...oh, but well written, intriguing, and has a pull of great interest. ;)

Gotta wonder if your version of goblin kind originated somewhere in the Orient...Japan, perhaps?
