I finished this sometime this week and I just went straight into reading another one so I apologize for not reviewing immediately as I can't give as many comments about specific events. But nevertheless I quite enjoyed this story. Harry has had many hardships but he's a great kid and he's incredibly loyal to the people he's collected as family.
Thank you for writing and I hope you are inspired to continue this some time in the future.

Awesome build up

I don't understand why Harry didn't tell more about how he taunted Quirrel. Harry should be a better liar. I guess he's just very flustered by the recent events because even before this he was reasoning and remembering the right plays for talking to a copper. I think the better route would have been over information, babbling and blubbering would have been better received than ignorance. Harry could have shared more about his thoughts and feelings than what he was actually doing. Like "I don't know sir, I was just so upset at seeing a man on the back of Quirrel's head and it was so scary and I tried to get Lacius to leave but he wouldn't" ooo and maybe go on a rant about Lacius being an idiot. That would have taken up time though probably not what Lacius' father would be pleased to hear. It would distract him though.
I am glad that Char caught Auror Longbottom's lie before Harry confessed. And with the bricks he could always blame Hogwarts or accidental magic.
I don't know if Harry is actually the BWL or an innocent bystander to the event Halloween 91.
If he is the BWL, I cannot wait until that is revealed to Lacius and the Longbottoms.
What's up with the Longbottoms trusting the Malfoys? When do we get that mystery solved and do we have to wait til book 4 for Voldie's return or book 5 for Lucius to be revealed as a true death eater? because I want that shoved in Frank's face.

This chapter was great! Kertak probably didn't need to come so it was wonderful that Harry was able to visit and share his concerns with one of his closest friends/brothers. The joy Harry felt with his brother was a relief from the emotional charged chapter before. I'm not to the last chapter written yet but I know it's not the end and that it's been 7 months since the last post. If you still need a Beta, I'd love to edit and encourage you in your writing. I haven't read any other of your stories but I like your writing style. This story is great. It makes me want to be more perceptive. You do a very good job at evoking the right emotions and depicting Harry as a child who has experienced a lot of bad and difficult things instead of a mini hardened adult. Thank you for writing.

Very original and interesting story! I'm enjoying the very different take on orphan/Harry & friend of goblins/Harry - lots of depth and details here, plus I like what you're doing with the Longbottoms. I hope you keep writing, no matter how long the intervals!

I'm going to go to sleep now because I need to get up in 4 hours but this fic is marvelous. I just cried when Harry was agonizing over leaving Sara and his family. I'm glad he's made so many friends in different houses. I was so hoping that Neville wouldn't be in the same house as Laconis. (Idk the spelling or pronunciation). (Any why or why would the Longbottoms think to associate with the Malfoys?!) But I guess it's best that Neville went to Gryffindor. I'm glad their group is sticking together. I love the magic Harry can do and the things he recites. Thank you writing.

Oh my gosh! Harry's curse scar is on his stomach not his forehead! That doesn't explain, though, why the holly wand reacted in his scar so badly. Though hopefully there's no horcux.

I LOOOOOOVED READING THESE LETTERS WOW! LOVE ALL HIS PENPALS. I also really love that Char isn't being replaced by anyone from Hogwarts, you know? I think that loyalty and brotherhood Harry has with Chat and Kertak should remain always slightly higher for they are family of the closest kind. I hope we see more of Harry with Kertak too! I adored having more Char in there. I BLOODY ADORE FLITWICK SOOOOOOO MUCH TOO! NEW FAVOURITE TEACHER! THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED IN ANY FANFIC BEFORE FOR ME (and I've read many!) Best ever version of Flitwick ever!

I can't wait for Sirius to eventually be part of this. He's one of my favourite characters. And somehow I think he'll be especially treasured by your version of Harry. (And hopefully he won't die haha).

One thing I didn't reeeeally love was Lupin saying James may have picked on Snape for being less fortunate/poor/etc. when we know that's not it - Sirius was from a very unfortunate/abusive family, Remus himself was very poor, and Peter was probably kind of a dweeb. I think it was more Snape's dark tendencies (and the jealousy over Lily you mentioned), but I wouldn't say James would pick on someone for wealth/abuse/etc. reasons. If anything, I'm sure there were times Snape had a go at James WITHOUT James having started anything as well.

Glad Frank is coming round. Man how could Lucius pretend so well to care for Lacius? Imagine if Lacius ends up in the graveyard with Voldemort and sees Lucius?!
