Wow! I loved the movie, but if the movie had been like this - that would have been AWESOME! Keep up the great work and I can't wait for your next chapter.

I kinda thought though that the teenage vikings would see the blast mark where Hiccup hit Toothless and the blood from Hiccup's feet and conclude that Hiccup was dead! I'm surprised you didn't do that! Will the adult vikings do that?

These must be the longest chapters I've read, and damn I'm glad they are! Wow, I'm totally hooked; it's almost like I'm starting to cry when I notice I'm at the end of the chapter, and it'll soon be over.

When I first clicked on this, I expected just another what-if story, but boy I was wrong! The amount of detail and effort put into this story is just amazing! I love how you do Toothless; his behavior is so..dragon-like 8D It's just perfect!

And the bond that are slowly forming between Toothless and Hiccup, GOD it's just so good! I love the similarity you put in between the last part of the chapter, and the "Forbidden Friendship" scene from the movie. Head against head; aw, sao kewt :3

I really really love this story. Its nice to see a Hiccup turned dragon fanfic expressed so clearly with such a detailed backstory. The amount of emotion put into this is astonishing...I can feel myself tense up during their fights and...almost crying when poor Hiccup was told he couldnt be changed back. And I especially love the extra long chapters! Not only am I seriously impressed but really excited to read more. Please please PLEASE update soon!

Awesome story man! Thanks for posting, I don't think dragons cry from emotion (judging what actual animals do and what happens in the movie) but wonderful plot melding with the diffent point of views~

You have me hooked. Flawless spelling and grammar, the pacing, the overall transition from one event to the next is seamless, and this has to be my favorite HTTYD story. I will be eagerly awaiting your next chapter, Rift! Just...

...make them cuddlier towards one another. :3 In the film, Toothless becomes incredibly devoted to Hiccup. I would very much like to see that in this story as well.

Eeeenteresting. :D You've made quite a few changes in Toothless's character, but it really works out well. If vindictive!intelligent!Toothless isn't the same as movie!Toothless, he's still a very very strong and consistent character and I am enjoying him muchly. I'm kind of excited to see where this goes now that they've made peace. :D

Yay yay yay yay yay! UPDATE! You have no idea how happy I am! I have been checking my email constantly hoping you would update :P this is like my most favorite story; I love how even though Hiccup is a dragon you still portray him perfectly. I can't wait for the next chapter!

He really acts like a dragon in this one. In most other stories I've read he's more like an overgrown fire-breathing cat with wings.

to be honest when I first started reading this I thought id be stop reading at the end of the 1st chapter... How wrong I was, ive never read anything like this and im just loving toothless and hicupp scenes [the viking scenes less so im afraid, sorry :( ]

and I like every moment of it and I can just imagine everything the two dragons say perfectly!

but anyway Id still rank this as one of the best and I hope you update soon and continue with it for much longer. (id be devastated if it would end soon)

great chapter! I loved the scene where they came to a truce and touched foreheads. loved that. I liked how similar it was to the movie scene where they touch the first time.

great work! I really like the way you're developing their relationship.
