Giselle-Lx, thank you so much for sharing your story! I thought it was FANTASTIC! I couldn't wait for the notification of a new chapter, and honestly, didn't want it to end. You are an amazing writer and I loved reading Stregoni Benefici.
Thank you again for sharing and can't wait to read what you have to write in the future!

I'm excited for this journey! My friend sent me.
| WoodLily chapter 30 . 2/6/2013
Ah, I remember Carlisle talking about this moment in a Tumblr entry (maybe he did so more than once?) Of course that admission of love had to happen spontaneously. And Edward loves him back: he doesn't have to say a thing.
"Thank you," says Carlisle to the God of men. I would rephrase that as the God of ALL-for the Divine watches over the immortals too, I think.
And thank YOU, Giselle, for sharing Carlisle's journey with us. I know you're ending your time in the fandom, so I look forward to reading those two remaining novellas when you publish them. And I hope that one day soon, I'll be able to read your real life fiction.
All the best,
| WoodLily chapter 29 . 2/6/2013
Your prose just gobsmacks me, Giselle. Every single time.
After "Sire", this was the chapter I was looking forward to the most. Of course-all of us were. Thank you for keeping the text historically accurate by having Carlisle hide in a pile of rotten turnips. Potatoes are a New World tuber, after all. I wonder how available they were to the general populace of 1660s England?
"The heartbeat sounded so lovely... And the man's scent was incredible. Not the smell of sweat and days' old clothing that permeated the rest of London, but the best, most succulent dish. Salty, heady, refreshing. His whole body seemed to call out for it, whatever it was... He needed that."YES! This description of thirst is perfect.
And of course he'd try to sate it by drinking water first, leading to the first sight of his demon's eyes. Another shivery-good moment.
There were so many of those moments in this chapter... like how he gradually lost grip on his human memories as he tried to starve himself to death.
"And had he not eaten venison before?" Lovely nod to canon there.
Finally, this: "My name is Carlisle Cullen!" he screamed. And, with his name echoing off the rocks, he ran—but this time, he ran down the mountain. Toward the humans... Toward life.
What a perfect ending! But I don't have to be sad it's over because there's still the epilogue. Eagerly, I click NEXT

| DishclothRioter chapter 30 . 2/5/2013
I wonder if Edward was really as carefree as he seems to Carlisle in this chapter. Did Edward only begin to loathe himself as a vampire after his rebellious period, or did he always hate what he'd become? Does Carlisle see him this way mostly because he is seeing Edward as a father sees his young child?
I look forward to your future works. You're the first author I've ever favorited.
| DishclothRioter chapter 28 . 2/5/2013
I don't think I've reviewed this story yet, but I've been following it for a few months and enjoying it. I think this may have been my favorite chapter. I read it for the first time awhile ago and reread it today, now that the fic's complete. I owe you a few reviews, I think.
Before reading this fic, I'd imagined Carlisle as much more a product of his (human) times and much more his father's son, meaning to say that I thought his refusal to give into his vampiric nature was due to his strict religious upbringing. In this story, however, Carlisle's ethics appear almost as a rebellion against his father's merciless punishments in God's name. Your vision of Carlisle has given me a lot to think about.

Thank you so much for sharing this treasure of a story with us. Carlisle has always been one of my favorite characters, and I always wanted to know more about him. I loved reading this story and what an incredible journey it has been.
| NixDucky chapter 30 . 2/5/2013
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful story with us. There are few stories that change the way that you look at the mythology of a thing or cement new mythology in your mind. Stregoni has become my canon.
| twifan19 chapter 1 . 2/4/2013
This is the first time I have read a ff which is not geared around Edward and Bella. I would love to know more of Carlisle's past life and this story sounds as if it will give me what I want to know. I have enjoyed this chapter, it is beautifully written and leaving me wanting more.
| twilight mum69 chapter 4 . 2/4/2013
Yet another amazing chapter, the insight into how each of the Volturi treated him. Fantastic.
| InkHeart17 chapter 29 . 2/4/2013
Amazing chapter of transformation. It's a crucial part of Carlisle's character development here so that he becomes Stregoni Benefici. This chapter was a wonderful metamorphosis for him. Great job!
| InkHeart17 chapter 28 . 2/4/2013
Oh goodness! Carlisle's triumphs as a doctor continue and it's all great. You had me worried when Rafael appeared. Did he just come after the scent of Carlisle and assume all the blood was Carlisle's fault, or did Carlisle overreact to the presence of a vampire who just came to retrieve him? Or did Carlisle save the brothers some trouble killing a vampire who would have hunted in the city?
I like the trunk, too. It has that strange half friendship, half threat line that Carlisle and Aro always walk with each other.
| Leo2010 chapter 30 . 2/3/2013
A truly wonderful story. Your writing style is fantistic.
