While I can understand and agree with the need to let Yuzu see and interact with everyone the way you did it at the beginning came off rather awkward. I'm not sure exactly why it feels weird so I can't give much constructive criticism beyond saying that it is just off.

I do think the fight in fake Karakura was very well done with a good mix of comments and recap.

I also like how you're involving the Shibas a bit more than canon. Kukaku was awesome and deserved more screen time.

In answer to the TB questions: I was pretty sure there was a cure but would need wiki to make certain. I did know it was bacterial and I do know about antiobiotics. (I'm quite a ways past high school at this point but none of these answers would've changed since middle school I believe.)

I like the memory crystal thing and buy your explanation for it and the lack of seeing it in cannon. Love the dissing with Mayuri. Always hated him. You should totally have Ichigo compare him to Uruhara.

While I don't think the explanation of the soul chain is needed it is nice to see you thinking of it. It's also good to see it addressed with how he'd have to split again after getting whole. I was wondering about that. I imagine though that this won't be a simple process and am still going to quietly expect something or some other option to come up to prevent them from remerging.

And I am totally expecting popcorn for Ichigo Memory Movie Night. At least Yoruichi and Matsumoto should bring popcorn.

Excellent idea. To take such a seemingly innocuous phrase and turn it into quite the major plot point. I like that. I'm curious what would happen if he became the key. Would he truly die or simply live as the Oken. Then upon accessing the reishi heavy environment of the kings dimension would he be able to absorb even more power and forcibly reform even stronger than before. I gotta remember the statement of Tensa Zangetsu a few chapters ago about wanting to be able to split the very heavens with a simple sweep of his blade in his completely sealed state without the fusion being active let alone their release states.

Curiously the Bankai that ends up being revealed in canon for our dear Yamamoto is waaay scarier and deadlier than what you described here. Here its a cataclysmic end all be all. there its that and it revives the souls of the beings killed by yamamoto to life to fight for him forever more as fiends of black flame. Its honestly scarier than one thinks. You die to him and are enslaved to his zanpakutou for all eternity. I liked the idea you had for Kenpachi's zanpakutou. The canon one is just a giant ass sword axe thing. This one at least reminds one of the idea of a berserker. To cause the enemy to bleed out and to retain ones own life blood no matter what. I'd still be curious to see Muramasa permanently fused into the complete form or now currently semi complete since he has a zanpakutou separate from his complete form.

This is well written. I'm glad you thought it out so thoroughly. Has a distinctive beginning middle and end as any good story should.

Ichigo versus Yamamoto was a super badass fight. So I am curious. WIll he later perfectly fuse with Muramasa to then extent his final form to kido mastery and illusion control on top of his already unstoppable juggernaut power? Cuz if so that would be awesome. Last thing he needs is the quincy powers fused, if your including them at all, and only reason is because being able to manifest any weapon any item buildings things people whatever is then multiplied by his already insane power meaning he reaches god level territory able to make souls from spirit particles he himself emits. Talk about awesome.

I always enjoyed Yamamoto's interesting almost dichtomous behavior. Yet is those principles that make such an interesting character. I like that your exploring him as a character more than simply a high level figure head or a seeming enemy dictator which he never was and simply is not.

Also when he finds out his substitute soul reaper badge was actually bugged too. Curious how he will react.

I'm thinking Hisane died of cancer. Most likely considering what was stated about her. I liked the fact his father was worried about the real father figure ichigo has in Zangetsu/his quincy powers. Which I must ask if that is a thing here or if were excluding the whole sternritter business and beyond. Execution too. The actual method of the formation of the shingami powers of Ichigo had to do with the Hollow his mother was infected with transfering to her first born who being a child of a quincy and a Shinigami had high reiatsu. The hollow became the basis for his shinigami powers or his power in general in two parts of three. THe third part being Quincy powers. As such Zangetsu no o san is the Quincy power with Zangetsu the hollow/shinigami being his instinct/hollow powers and shinigami powers. The sword he uses currently is actually made from reishi much the same way Juuhabach makes weapons from reishi. If we recall all shinigami are given Asauchi which are blank zanpakuto that are then made into real ones via the shinigami reitatsu being pushed into them over a period of time thus forming the Zanpakuto spirit within. In Ichigo's case he already had his shinigami powers fused with his Hollow powers making an Asauchi unecessary plus with his Quincy powers he can form and reform his weapons anytime. The thing about the Quincy created blade is since it is formed of reishi manipulation even if it breaks unlike normal zanpakuto which will be permanently gone when broken Ichigo can continuously reform his blade and in effect could actually make his weapon into anything he wants if he really felt like it. Its a cool perk of reishi manipulation from the quincies that you can make any kind of spirit weapon, though most choose or are told they must do bows.

Curious if that comes up later or not. Considering his fused state is one in which he accepts his hollow/shinigami powers and then zangetsu no osan i would hope that he would learn of this history as otherwise he won't be able to make full use of his power that is available in his fused state.
