Yup - HG is breathtaking! No wonder it motivated you to write this. I love it, by the way! I really do -it's very original, in terms of characterisation. As much as I love FFs that really stick to original characters, I love reading those which explore too. Afterall, it is FAN FICTION, right? Your Katniss is a wonderful experiment - I see Katniss in her, but your Katniss has a different feel too. She is more indifferent to those she wasn't supposed to (Gale, her mother) and is opening up to others (Peeta, Thom). Your Haymitch is different too, still comical, but what he said about Katniss again shows your own experiment on his character. Very well done! I can't guess where you'll take this, but I can't wait to know where that will be. This feels original, and I think we'll be seeing a lot of emotional shifts and relationship developments, which I am excited to read about. This is a very interesting take on the end of Mockingjay. The way you have written it is very captivating, and I think what you did to Peeta's character is very different from what other writers are doing. The other writers are making Katniss the one who is keeping Peeta out, but in this story both Katniss and Peeta are shutting each other out of their lives.

I can't wait to see what you are going to write about next, if you choose to continue this story.

I was so disappointed by Mockingjay, it kind of killed my love of the series and of fanfiction for it, but I REALLY liked this. Something about the tone and the voice really reminded me of the books, especially the first one. I really enjoyed the writing, and I'm interested in seeing where you take this! Good luck!
