| crimsonrose555 chapter 11 . 2/21
I absolutely loved this! I already loved these characters to begin with from Doyle's books. I didn't think it possible to be even more fond of them. Obviously this isn't canon but your depictions of their characters through your writing reminded me of some of their canon characteristics given by Doyle, plus the added want of a gay relationship between them, and I was overwhelmed with bits of nostalgia and fondness for how cute you made them. I loved Watson the most here, I find it amazing that some of these fanfictions I read make me feel genuine emotion (to the point of me realizing I can't think of a time I've genuinely felt it in IRL). I believe I could feel the protectiveness over him, I could feel that sadness when Holmes witnessed Watson returning from recovery after the war and having no one there for him!...I'll stop now, this is getting ridiculous on my part. If i could rate this and not just add one favorite, I would give it a 9.5/10 (not a full 10 because I would have also liked to be included in that food porn and body exploration that went on after).

Not what I thought I would be reading... but so much better! I love when I'm surprised! Thanks for the story.
| Captain Evermind chapter 11 . 8/3/2016
This is the loveliest piece of writing ever. Gorgeous characterisation, and entirely in-keeping with the time. Your Mycroft, in particular, is a highlight! Looking forward to reading more of your work.

I have read this story so many times I cannot even guess the number. It is beautiful and I just want to say thank you once again.
| Ella Serra chapter 11 . 11/6/2015
I just read through all the chapters in one sitting, and I have to say, dear, I have never seen a more spectacular johnlock plot! Bless you for writing such a well thought-out storyline!
| mamika chapter 11 . 10/3/2015
they are both idiots in their own way. Watson would not complain even if his neck was broken and Holmes would not notice if his hand was eaten, given the correct circumstances. I can't really wait to hear how their date will go :D if they get to it, that is...
poor injured Holmes. if only he could realize that Watson had indeed wanted to say yes and was gravely disappointed not being able to do it.
the letters are lovely. (and also a bit weird because I just started a Sherlock stories that also works around letters that are never send but that John eventually reads anyway. but I dare say I am not copying you since I came up with it before reading this. hopefully no one minds their similarity) I do wonder how long it will take for Holmes to realize that the letters were meant for him. and how adorably Watson has cared for Holmes for so long. neither sure why they think about the other so much but both unwilling to let go of the other.
*hyperventilating again* Watson is defending holmes's honor against Holmes! oh, the poor detective is just so slow on the intake at times.
and poor Watson for having go about it like that. even after he rushed his meeting with his friend to get back to Holmes that much quicker, possibly hoping that they could still go out together for the evening.
*hysterical laughter* he told him! probably the only way to shut Holmes up but I can't believe he really did it!
I totally forgot it was illegal back then. I only thought that it was unallowed in the army. but yeah, they would be in a pickle if they were found out. then again, mycroft can probably keep them safe. and By probably I meandefinitely.
liked that part where holmes's mind exploded, it being one of the few sounds in the room. it gaev nice touch to the revelation
Holmes in love would be OOC if it were to anyone else than Watson. but with him, it is only natural. and I think it makes sense that Holmes would be at a loss with his own emotions, so in my opinion he was well in character. one of the many reasons why I liked this story so much.
it was truly amazing and magnificent story.
just splendid! and the way you pointed out how much they were risking by choosing to be together it was a good point made. I honestly had not realized it before.
thank you. thank you so much. it was a great pleasure to get to read something this good :D
| mamika chapter 10 . 10/2/2015
I didn't think Holmes would ever get there, to be honest. I was sure someone else, namely Watson would be the one to point it out to him.
this was very good chapter again. sorry to disappoint you with this lame review after the last one, but I am at a loss here. do forgive me. I really enjoyed reading this chap too :D
| mamika chapter 9 . 10/2/2015
consistensy is boring. I think this works just like this. being a little different but that only making it shine that much brighter.
Watson is now not only teasing Holmes, that sounds very much like flirting! and they don't seem to care that mycroft is in the room too! I had to stop reading and come and say just how awesome that is! the feelings they have and show, I was nearly hyperventilating whilst I read it! this is more than good, more than great this is just superb! thank you for coming up and posting something this gorgeous.
and that massage conversation is also so very funny! I am dying of laughter right now XD
*breathing in a bag* when Holmes turned the tables around and started teasing Watson back I got so excited I swear I was getting lightheaded because I forgot that there is such thing as breathing out too. I was just gasping. wonderful!
*fainting* Watson said yes! and Holmes was just touching him when the doors banged open! cursed luck! (btw, sorry my excessive use of exclamation marks. I just got a teensy bit carried away. and this is indeed intense story. I love stories like this that run heavily on emotions.)
even mycroft was disappointed By the turn of events. he would have wanted to see the epiphany when Holmes finally realizes what it is that he is feeling.
I don't know what happened but I managed to kill my throat. it was combination of squel and gasp and it actually hurt. but it was shocking that Sherlock had not moved away at all from Watson and that the client was so flabbergast By it, since that means that it really looked rather compromising. :3
*melt down* Watson is very... straightforward in a sneaky manner. it has been way too long since I have read anything this gripping. not to say that your other stories were bad, but this is even better, and on this especially this chapter. I feel like I am floating when I read this.
3 that was the best proposal I have heard. or read. perfect.
aww, Watson defended Holmes's honor against evil fat sod. and with such conviction too.
And now Holmes defended Watson, in a truly heroic and rather hot way. I bet mycroft was late to stop him on purpose. he too much have thought that the boso needed a good smack. i wish the man had said a word, just so Holmes could have really do some long overdue teahing to the moron.
they laughed together. I'm getting emotional overdose with this chap but it is soo good. Watson even pressed his head against holmes's shoulder. so nice.
that end! I have run out of proper words to commend it. but that was so... yeah, I really don't have words for it. watson's last line, Holmes being out of control... oh so good.
you have my deepest gratitude for publishing this
| mamika chapter 8 . 10/2/2015
aww, Sherlock is so cute. I mean Holmes. nearly the same anyway.
I do wonder how they will work things out when Holmes is so lost in that way. thank god he has Watson so that he is not completely lost.
And Watson. brave and chivalry Watson, finally starting to heal from his wounds of war.
| mamika chapter 7 . 10/2/2015
What about John's since he finds Holmes's jokes funny?
anyways, really cool. Watson was so hot figthing down three healthy men. that was so cool.
and Holmes is so head over heals to Watson. mycroft must see it all, and also the fact that the feeling is reciprocated By the good doctor.
that old fashion way to speak, with dears, my good mens and so on. they make it sound so intimate, even though I know they don't mean it in that context.
but is still sounds wodnerful ;)
really good work once again
| mamika chapter 4 . 10/1/2015
Holmes is cool. dashing around in an effort to keep Watson safe.
Watson is pretty cool too, doing what he thinks is right and goes to try and save his fellow countrymen.
again, great chapter :D
| mamika chapter 3 . 10/1/2015
Oh, he indeed is hopeless. loving the story. really. Holmes is so cute and clueless and innocent in a way. and john is still selfsacrificing, strong and beautiful.
you are an amazing writer. I had planned on reviewing once I was done, but this chapter was so good I couldn't help myself.
I mean, Holmes was so out of it and he was so kind whilst out of it, working on instinct to help Watson. and that is so nice. so so nice.
| Jade chapter 11 . 8/9/2015
Beautifully done! This is the most wonderful piece of fiction I've read regarding the brilliant (consulting) detective and his faithful (and lovely) companion. I think this is a great character study; and though you've mentioned Holmes as being OOC, I think you've written him fairly "realistically" as could be considering his circumstances of floundering in love and all the softer emotions. Actually, I believe all the characters were written well. Their behaviors were believable, their thoughts were intriguing, their actions were understandable and their humorous comments very witty and so like them. The story itself was very excellent, as it flowed very smoothly and felt like it belong with ACD's original writings. Your use of vocabulary was deliciously rich, colorfully descriptive and very fitting for Victorian settings. I kept envisioning which Holmes and Watson actors were fitting and I couldn't help but see Jeremy Brett and David Burke (my favorite Holmes and Watson) painted into your story. My only issue is that I wish there was more of the story to read! I commend you for your work and hope to see more gems from you.
| Ar3emis chapter 11 . 6/26/2015
I liked it, it was very good, but as my vocabulary aren't yet on your level it was a bit heavy. Anyways a great story, continue the good writing.
